In March 1998, I noticed at times I would get a few hives on top of my feet. I had the condition off and on sometimes worse than others. On Sept. 24, 1998 I was taking the drug cephaclor for soar throat, and during the night I woke up with hives all over my body. I have had the hives ever since. My allergist prescribed 10 mg of Zyrtec once or twice daily for my condition and told me the hives would eventually go away. I am currently reading Mind as Healer. I am starting to realize what stress can do to you. I still have hives, is this still the result of an allergic reaction to the medication after 2 months?
thanks
Chip

thats probably not an allergic reaction. dr. stoll will comment further. i had hives for a solid year after taking the antibiotic biaxin. i too thought it was an allergic reaction. my guess is there is way more wrong than that and this is just the tip of the iceberg, if your story is like mine, you have leaky gut , candida and maybe some other parasite running around your gut. you have a lot of work to do, starting with reviewing this bb. dr. stoll's suggestions cured me of the hives ( and i had a severe case every day)when nothing else did anything. good luck.

Deare Chip,
Listen to john. If I had what you have right now, I would go to the nearest trainer in self-hypnosis and learn how to turn them off. You are getting a good basis for this from MAH, MAS. Keep reading it.
You had to be right on the verge of getting this PRIOR to taking the drug. There is little doubt that the drug pushed you over the edge but it is not causing any of the problem now. The things that had you on the verge were not changed and so they have just progressed to letting you have the "message" all the time now.
Let us know how you do.
Walt

i suffered from severe, chronic hives for 2 years. i saw several doctors and had numerous tests and all i had to show for it was a much lighter wallet. nothing worked. then i found this site and after only a couple weeks of skilled relaxation at dr. stoll's recommendation there was dramatic improvement. i've been doing the sr for @7 months now and the hives are mostly gone. on a scale of 1 to 10 i was 12 before the sr and now about a 2. as an aside some severe joint problems i was also having are gone, i'm taller and my eyesight, which was gradually deteriorating over the years is now gradually improving. and my life is calmer and more balanced. listen to dr. stoll's advice and hang in there. i know how horrendous chronic hives can be but there is a solution. best of luck!
