Hi! I'm a Type 2 diabetic. When I quit taking my estrogen it seems like my 12 hour fasting numbers have increased by quite a bit. Today I had a 149 which was lower than it has been. Was the estrogen controlling my blood sugars? Is there something else I can do for this? I'm on 4 tabs a day of Glyburide and 3 tabs a day of Metformin(Glucophage). Thank you for any advice.....

Hi, Linda.
Obviously your bodymind is more functional with the estrogen than without it. I would suggest getting started on estriol (see the aging archives). Also, this is a good example of how much good a serious wellness program would do for you. You would have to keep close watch on your sugar since your need for the meds would drastically reduce and hypoglycemic episodes are a lot more dangerous than having your sugar run high.
Let us know how you do.
Walt

Try using maca to stabilize your hormonal system.
