Doctor,
I am normally a nice sweet happy go lucky girl. However,
I believe that I have a serious hormonal imbalance. Two weeks to two weeks before my period I begin to have serious mood swings. I go from being a very happy sweet girl to being intolerant of people even addressing me or altering the manner in which I wish to conduct myself for any reason. I also have a tendency to have panic attacks during this period of time. Another thing that strikes me as strange is that it seems as though the hormonal fluctuations at this period of time cause my breasts to increase in size too much. I am a B cup normally but when I get my breasts can barely be contained by a C cup bra thus they are immensely sore and achy. Do you have any idea what kind of hormonal imbalance this could be?

If you can get your hormone levels checked on day 21,
22, or 23 of your cycle I would just to see if you have a
deficiency. The super sore breasts and irritability seem
like they might indicate low progesterone during that
time of month. If your estrogen is high and your
progesterone is low it can make one very cranky. I have
heard that hot dry saunas are good for lowering
estrogen, but never tried it.
Also take at least 1200 mg of Evening Primrose Oil
every day, a good b-complex, and vitamin e (400mg or
more). This should help tremendously.
Hormones are mighty powerful and they can definitely
cause irrational anxiety, impatience and angry
outbursts when they are not balanced. The above
supplements helped me a lot. Hope it helps you as
well.
Take care.

Would day 21, 22 or 23 really be the best times to have the levels checked. It just seems to me that the irritabily occurring so far in advance of my period may indicate that the larges fluctuations are much prior to my period. These symptoms seem to be at their worst two weeks before my period begins. I basically only have one normal week of the month or 12 normal weeks a year anymore.

Yeah, two weeks before your period is when you ovulate.

Sorry, forgot to add that since estrogen gets lower and lower prior to onset of period (causing PMS symptoms), your estrogen is probably low. This will cause irritability because for women estrogen is the hormone of well being.
In addition to the EPO... Vitamin B6 helped my PMS symptoms and cleared up my skin too! Exercise helps also.
Having a lot of PMS-type symptoms can be due to adrenal burnout also. Ever have your adrenals checked?

Hi, Mean.
So what if it is a "hormone imbalance"? Current medical ways to balance hormones are woefully inadequate with lots of "groping in the dark" and side-effects.
Why not use the wonderful laboratory and treatment center that Mother Nature gave you and do serious wellness?? I guarantee that you will see results within 6 months (without any negative side effects but lots of positive ones) and total cure in 12 months.
Go to the glossary for any unfamiliar terms and the home page for a free protocol and the archives for additional info. Let us know what you learn and how you do.
This MAY have even progressed to C-RS but I would not worry about that now since it probably will take care of itself.

Walt, I love that line "use the wonderful laboratory and treatment center". I will be plagiarizing that!!

I am a yoga and meditation instructor and have practiced a sattvic diet for a few years. I also have tried to maintain balanced systemic flora via regular consumption of acidophilus milk for years. I also take 1200mg of Omega 3 fatty acids, 100mg of alpha lipoic acid, 800mg of d-alpha-tocopherol, 400mg of garlic and 1000mg of calcium daily for a coupld of years. What else can I do to get rid of this condition?

I have practiced a sattvic diet except for the fact that I consume fish, garlic, onion, and some occasional coffee. But none of the rajasic foods are at all in excess so it is still basically sattvic in character.

Thanks, Sally.
You are welcome to it! Remember, what we are trying to do here is to get the public to thinking differently. Not more, not less but trancendentally.
Namaste`

Even though it's acidophilus, do you think the milk is actually benefiting you? Milk is rather suspect these days due to the hormones and antibiotics given the cattle. Unless it is goat's milk, it may be worthwhile to investigate that angle.

Listen to Sally. You do know, do you not, that commercial dairy is now all packed with hormones that the government has exempted dairys from telling the consumer about? Listen to Sally.
Surely, with your history, this would be the first place to check. Total elimination of dairy in any form for at least 3 months would show you some changes if this was the cause.
The next thing would be for you to check your meditative technique with biofeedback. I know it might be embarrassing to you to find out that your technique was not producing the "relaxation response", being an insructor and all, but you would not be the first one I have found. That would not mean thar your teaching technique was faulty; only that that technique did not work for YOU.
Let us know what you learn.

I only consume organic dairy products though.

But I was trained by psychologists to find the techniques that work for me and also to know other techniques to employ on other individuals. Thus, biofeedback has already been undertaken. What next?

Do you know about all the toxins that are in goats milk?

Hi,
Sorry, but these terms are new to me. Can you tell us what they mean and from whence they came? Is this Aryvedic medicine or something? Thanks.

Well in Eastern philosophies that are related to yoga and thus there are dietary components as well.. sattvic foods are life giving foods and include fresh fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds beans, wholegrains, dairy and honey. These are the foods that it is believed should comprise most or all of your diet. There are also rajasic foods which are stimulating to the system and can overstimulate the endocrine and nervous systems and include refined sugar, caffeine containing foods, onion, garlic, chili anything that is extremely spiced, extremely sweet, extremely bitter, extremely sour, extremely salty, or extremely pungent and result in the inability of the bodymind to achieve a state of calmness or contentment. Tamasic foods depress the the system, rob the individual of energy and poison the system. Tamasic foods are those that are stale, tasteless, putrefied, overripe, unfresh, tinned, frozen, processed or preserved. Tamasic foods include meat and alcohol.

Mean,
This MAY not be the problem but it is the cheapest and safest thing to try that might.

Remember, Mean.
ALL dairy must be eliminated. If you are reading every lable and excluding all dairy except what you KNOW to be organic.......

Consider switching to RAW organic dairy, only, if you're going to consume any dairy at all.

That probably depends on who owns the goat.
