Androgen Suppressors??

Posted by Edwina on August 04, 2000 at 15:05:25:

My hormonal ance is bugging me! I WILL look into SR, but I would like your opnion on this. I heard today that women can take androgen suppressing drugs, such as spirolactone, to cure their acne and many women have exprienced great benefits within a few months max. It is also benefitial for women who have excessive hair growth. Apparantly, this drug is taken in conjunction with a birth control pill. The bad news is it can cause deformed male fetus due to the suppression of the male hormones... whether you have tried this drug or not... what are your views?

Edwina,

Taking stuff like this is like dropping rocks into delicately balanced gears in hope they will alter the function of the machine! We are basicaly ignorant about the delicate balance of hormonal function (especialy) in our bodyminds.

MUCH more effective and safe to let our natural machinery do it itself (which it surely will if we but get the blanket of stress-effect storage off the hypothalamus). This exposes the basic difference between Eastern and Western philosophy: The Eastern tends to encourage things to happen. The Western impatiently wants to MAKE it happen--regardless of the consequences--one reason why 35% of ALL illness in this country is now caused by the medical profession.

You will never understand this, OR what you need to do to resolve this effectively, without becoming a student of Selye's work. You can either start SR on faith or become a student.

Let us know questions you may have during your process.

Walt
