I have recenlty been diagnosed with adrenal exhaustion through the use of adrenocortex stress and female hormone profiles as well as various blood tests, and have been researching the condition before I go back to my Dr. to discuss treatment. I have noticed that the terms adrenal exhaustion, adrenal hypofunction and Addisions desease seem to be used interchangeably in the Merk manual and other resources. Are these terms synonomous?
I am also being treated for reflux, parixsysmal atria tachycardia, migraines etc., and have had multiple benign cysts (9) surgically removed over the last 20 years. I am wondering most about a large lemon sized cyst removed from my optic nerve as this was very close to the pituitary gland and how this may have caused or could be interacting with the adrenal and hormone problems I am experiencing now. I am also wondering if/how the current medications I am taking for PAT, migrains etc. may be interacting or exasterbating the adrenal and hormone problems I am experiencing and whether I actually have these other conditions or whether these are actually symptoms of the adrenal exhaustion.
Would you please advise regarding good questions I need to ask my Dr. and how I might better educate myself on treatment options and drug interactions?
Thanks,
Julie

addisons disease is not "adrenal exhaustion" or what i call hypoadrenalism, it instead is a condition were the gland fails/deteriorates due to several causes eg- autoimmiune, infection, tumor. in adrenal exhaustion the glands are in tact but just severely overworked and "tired". this is a common cause of so called "chronic fatigue syndrome". the hypothalmus/pituitary are also involved. doc stolls protocal is the best way to remedy the situation especially the skilled relaxation part.i have worked with one other doctor who i think is the best at "curing" adrenal exhaustion- dr gerald poesnecker- 1800 300 5168, i have no business affilitation with him whatsover.he'll work via email or over the phone.

Hi, Julie.
Listen to doc bob (Thanks, doc bob.)
Your story is typical of the track record of the allopathic paradigm for chronic conditions. Keep treating the tips of the iceberg and ignore the iceberg itself. Of course, all you (and your insurance company) have spent over the years would have not found its way into the medical care coffers. What would the "poor" doctors and pharmaceutical companies do then?
If you had simply been told to become an expert in SR, way back in the beginning, none of this would have happened to you. STILL it it the most important thing for you to do.
Let us know when YOU are ready to change YOUR paradigm and I believe we can help. It will take learning, work and discipline on your part but until you do this, "this is as good as it gets".
