Helpppppp

I am 18 years old and had my first surgery for draining when I was 15 and had another this past september. I have found that sometimes the last part to have healed will puss up a little and drain itself so it has never been much trouble except keeping it extra clean. Within the past few days the last one I had drained has began to do the same but it seems to have a little more puss/fluids under the skin than usual. In a situation like this does using heat (hot cloth etc.)help to speed up the process I usually go through?? Any help would be nice as I do not really feel like going back to the OR this weekend for an incision.

Please ignore my question and THANK YOU!!! I decided not to wait for your reply and go straight to a warm compress, after about 3 minutes I decided to give up on to find a pretty nasty mess on the compress when I removed it. All I had to do afterwards was try to push out any excess (which can be a little painfull but has to be done) and wash the area well. 30 minutes later and I'm smiling again :)

Once again thank you very much and thank God for the internet!!

Congratulations, Kat.

What else did you learn from the archives? I am assuming that you are talking about a pilonidal problem although you did not say anything about what you were trying to treat.

Sorry, yes I was speaking of a Pilonidal problem. From reding the archives I have learned that lancing every year or a more serious procedure doesn't have to be my only solution. I was always told that it would alwats reoccur but none of the doctors who have treated me ever spoke of any prevention methods other than not sitting too much (which can be hard when I was in school over 6 hours a day). I am so happy that I found this site and got to read testimonials and suggestions from everyone. Now everyday if I've been sitting a lot I apply a hot compress while I'm watching tv, it doesn't take any time out of my day to try preventing a flame up and next time one starts I plan on trying a salve as it has seemed to work for quite a few people. The biggest thing I have learned is how little many doctors know. I have been seen by atleast 5 different doctors since 1999 and I have only found one who has the slightest clue as to what he's dealing with. Thank you very much for all the help you have given me, in a few months I will let you know how well these prevention methods work for me. God bless :)

Thanks, Kat.

Let us know how you do.

Only a monopoly could get away with such shoddy management.

Namaste`
