swollen glands and now a night sweat?!

Posted by Sara on April 20, 2003 at 18:56:15:

I have written on here about having numerous swollen glands that I was almost 90% sure I made swollen by literally poking HARD everywhere in my neck after finding one underneath my jaw bone about 4 months ago now. Well, bad news. I woke Sat night/sunday morning with my neck collar damp. I'm scared. Is that considered a night sweat? I also had night sweats around the time I had a kidney infection about 8 months ago (drenching ones). And come to think about it, I've woken up a couple times since september 2002 with a damp neck collar. Ever since I've thought I was dying, I've been having a damp collar every month or so. Is this from anxiety? Should I get my glands checked for sure now b/c I OCCASSIONALLY wake up w/ a damp neck?

Hi Sara, I'm not a Dr., but I am a mom with lots of experience with 3 daughters. I have a daughter who experienced a similar situation as you. She was full of toxins and the glands in her neck seemed to always be swollen. She got night sweats and fever many times in the night. She also got several BAD infections in her throat where her glands would get swollen and infected. She began taking herbs to detox, and started drinking 8 glasses of water a day, and cleaned up her diet. She no longer has the swollen glands, the sweating or sweaty/wet armpits. She hasn't had the throat infections like she use to get. Hope this has helped. If you have any questions about de-toxing just ask.

I was not afraid it was lymphoma because my daughter did have to go into the ER for her throat infections.

Have you read any of the information on the BB regarding wellness? Dr. Stoll recommends following the 3-legged stool. Exercise, diet, and skilled relaxation.

For detoxing you can do diet, juicing, fasting, herbs. It might be a new journey for you. There is alot of information on this BB, in the glossary, archives, information for you to get started. If you get lost..or confused with all the information, and don't know where to begin, just ask......everybody is pretty supportive.

Walt, what do YOU think? Do you think I should rush to the doc now that I've experienced a night sweat?

Hi, Sara.

There are MANY things that can cause night sweats. What you are describing would not be considered "night sweats" to me.

However, if you are worried enough about it THAT could produce what you are describing. If that is the case you should see your doc and consider a biopsy.

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help, I am a an average male 6ft, 165lbs. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure late last year. I have not taken the tabs prescribed by the doctor, I have tried to exercise more and eat properly. For the past 2 months I get Night Sweats about twice a week especially around my neck. My legs sometimes get very warm? What do you think
Thanks

Hi, Michael.

How old are you?

I note that you are still not doing the most important single thing for your BP(SR).

Have you been checking your BP daily at home and recording it?

How high WAS your BP when the doc recommended the tabs?

Mike, I just read your posting on night sweats. I want to let you know that there are night sweats and high blood pressure symptoms along with things like loss of sexual desire palpitating heart and a host of other things associated with sleep apnea. I have bean going to the doctor with very much the same symptoms and basically tell the doctors that I feel like I'm dying. They have treated me for high bp, anxiety, motion sickness, erectile dysfunction, and depression. I finally went to an ENT for allergies and asked about snoring. That opened the floodgates for questions and ultimately a sleep test. The sleep test showed that my oxygen level dropped below 70% at night and that I spent less than 10% of my sleep time in the most restful REM sleep. Since then I have made a few habit changes and totally listened to my doctor and things are going very well now. The reason that I am writing this is that I feel for you and hope things go well for you. Good luck. The good news is that I don't have any of the aformentioned problems. I simply couldn't sleep and breath at the same time.
Chris
