Dear Dr. Stoll,
I am 37 years old, and 15 weeks pregnant. My blood pressure has been ranging in 130-150 systolic, and 70's-high 80's diastolic. I am worried, but the docs don't want to treat me with any medicine yet. Is this appropriate? Should I push for meds? Also, how long will it take for my blood pressure to come down using the three-legged wellness model? I'd appreciate any feedback from anyone, I am really concerned about my baby. Thanks, Julie

also,,,,I heard a heart doctor on a regular talk program say to check your Blood Pressure at a pharmacy or at home,,,versus the doctor's office, where it is usually MUCH higher, due to excitement! (Once I started talking and had to shut up, as mine registered 170!!)......good luck:-)

If I were you, I would visit either the watercure or watercure2 websites. When I had high blood pressure, I was able to significantly reduce my blood pressure by simply drinking the necessary water to keep myself properly hydrated. High blood pressure is one symptom of dehydration.
In any case, it won't cost anything to try and it is perfectly safe - unlike drugs. I would certainly try this before taking drugs.
Bill

Hi, Julie.
The worst thinng woudl be if thiswas the first sign of pre-eclampsia. You can take care of that possibility by taking a good dose of easily absorbed magnesium (see the magnesium archives) a couple of times a day for at least the rest of your pregnancy.
Listen to Bill, Jayne & Steve.
Let us know how you do.
