I really want to try this time to be off the Blood Pressure medication for good.....
Do I cut a 25 mg pill in half? and how long do I take this amount?

Hi Jayne,

All I know is I asked Walt this question one time and he said you should not stop your bp medication on your own. You need to do this under supervision and talk to your doctor first. I think that just stopping the medication can have a bad effect on you. Do talk to the doc first.

Jayne, if you have a good pharmacist you might try talking with him/her. Often they are a lot more helpful than doctors, at least in my experience. Good luck!

Hi, Jayne.

What IS your doc's job??? I would think it was to help you control your BP.

Listen to Maz. Unless you are already doing what is recommended in the hypertension archives, I would not recommend reducing your BP meds without supervision.

Of course, your doc should have taken the time to teach yow what is in the archive long before this.

Walt

Thanks Walt, for your reply....I go to a clinic, so I am lucky to get 5 minutes!!

I asked ages ago if I could get off the meds....but when you go in to the office, sometimes reading was 170/?? and I knew that was not the true reading, as I took readings at drugstore....Last time, I was told to double medication to 50 mg!
And it was also suggested I get a flu shot with a fever of 103???
I really don't want to have any more to do with "that" place than I have to!! looooooong story.
