hypertension in A.M.

My B.P. has always been on the high side my entire life and I have taken steps to eliminate LGS/CRS and feel much better than I ever have. I have been following a good diet with probiotics for over 1 year. However, my B.P. upon arising is still usually 170/100. It goes down to around 140-150/92 after breakfast. I sometimes feel panicky when I wake up which makes me think I am getting adrenaline surges in the A.M. I walk about 3 times a week and do light weights twice a week. I really hate the idea of going on medication and would like to take additional steps naturally if possible to lower these numbers. Thanks!

According to Jean Carper's "Food- Your Miracle Medicine" :

Eat more of the following:

CELERY and GARLIC are ancient medicines for lowering blood pressure. (Although celery is higher in sodium than other vegetables, the amount per stalk (35mg) is an insignificant amount in overall diet. Interestingly, celery contains a pressure-lowering agent called 3-n-butyl-phthalide, which gives celery its aroma.)

FISH (fatty fish, such as mackerel, sardines, herring)

(I'm wondering if omega-3 fatty acid capsules, such as flax seed oil would have the same beneficial effect as fish, for those who are vegetarians.)

FRUITS and VEGETABLES,
Vit. C, potassium, calcium

Hi, Gloria.

Listen to Charlene (Thanks, Charlene!)

How are you doing with your SR? The essential fatty acids would help, too.
