Testimonial on I.C (interstitial cystitis)

Hello Every one,

This is Georgia and i have not posted for a while ,being busy at work and also wanting to wait a bit before talking about my improvment.

I have had IC for a long time and Dr Stoll was the only Doctor to really explain to me what it was all about. I have not seen a urologist in 12 years because i got more pain from the things they did to me .They never understood the problem like Dr Stoll did.Hopefully it is better now. (that was 12 years ago).

I have had alot of great results with Homeopathy ,which is a long process ,but i do like the approach Homeopathy has towards dis-eases .I am lucky in San Francisco to have a great homeopath who has practiced Homeopathy for more than 35 years and has seen this condition many times.

Anyway ,after reading about SR almost 1 year 1/2 ago , i started to follow Dr Stolls advise because IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!!!I did SR and now switched to yoga every day and i can tell you i am 85-90% better.I can still feel my pelvic muscle tight but i try to also do kegel exercises as much as i can remember.
I havent seen my Homeopath in 4 months and i havent taken a remedy in 6 months.I saw improvments faster since doing yoga faithfully( i do the Birkram yoga, the one where you sweat alot in a heated room.....maybe it helps me to rid off toxins as well).
So i just wanted to give a little testimonial for all of you out there suffering from this condition.Trust me ,I CAN UNDERSTAND HOW YOU FEEL BUT THERE IS HOPE (LOOK AT ME!!!).
I am not cured and still fear relapses but i am much more aware of what is going on in that area and why i tense up there when stressed or anxious.Food never did affect me so much (except alcohol, but i do not drink often anyway).I believe that a big part of it for me is emotional .I have noticed that as i read books on mind body connection .I truly believe as my Homeopath says also ,that the mind and body is ONE and ONE only. Our mind is powerful so it affects the body when stressed. At least that is what i believe for my case.

I still have to improve on resuming my meditation and doing it every day,but i am not so hard on myself anymore.I am learning to be more confident and not to think so negative .Again all this can affect the body(negative thinking).
Thats all for now.I will continue to post as i get better and better for at least 2 , 3 years.
HANG IN THERE PEOPLE, it is all worth it to follow Dr Stoll s advise.Trust me there were times i panicked so much and he always reassured me to continue Sr ,yoga etc....His advise ,compassion, caring and patience are so precious.

Thank you Dr Stoll .

Namaste ,

Georgia

Hi Georgia,
It is so wonderful to hear how well you're doing. I also have IC and I remember reading your early posts. The change you've brought about in your condition is huge!
IC is one of those things that seems so hopeless when you first read about it (i.e., "mechanism unknown", "no known cure", etc.). Coming to Dr. Stoll's site gave me hope. I've learned so much here and it has helped me to improve my symptoms to within only about 10 percent of what they originally were. My approach has also involved yoga, some homeopathy, the Jaffe-Mellor technique, massage, and physical therapy along with (more intermittant than it should be) meditation. I know what you mean about the link between IC and stress. I've discovered that I stored my stress in the pelvic floor. Looking back on this, the signs were so clear - IBS, repeat bladder infections, constant yeast infections...
The body awareness that I've gained through physical therapy has made a huge difference in being able to release and relax the muscles in the pelvic floor. I never realized I was tense there, but it was constant!
Thank you for posting your testimonial. Early on, the testimonials were what really, really helped me to believe that this was not "incurable". I think that the information that Dr. Stoll provides is so valuable, and the testimonials have a great value of their own.
Namaste,
Daisy

Thanks, Georgia (& Daisy).

You both are most welcome--after all you are the ones who did the work, I only pointed the way.

As you said, testimonials did more good than anything. Hopefully YOUR testimonials will help others as others helped you.

If it hadn't been for Bill (our webmaster) none of this would have been available. Thanks Bill! It is a TEAM effort!

Namaste`

Walt

Hi Daisy,

Hang in there .I totally understand you and if i can get better so can you because i was really in pain at times for a long time.I still feel mu muscle tense there but i try to relax it when i can, continue yoga and homeopathy eventhough i have not taken a remedy in 6 months.I am so aware now how my anxiety about life and my negative thinking affect that region of my body so i try to think about it and relax.I still get upset about things but since i am aware of how it affects me so much i try to relax as much as i can.Still a long way to go but i am working on it .So hang in there ,continue yoga ,skilled relaxation and a good homeopath or whatever you choose to do.Trust what Dr Stoll says because he has delt with this condition for a long time and has seem many people being cured when they followed his advise.

I wish you the best of health and trust that you re on your way to recovery,

Georgia
