I am 26 year old male, and have been doing SR for my IC for about 6 or 7 weeks now. I was diagnosed with chronic prostatitis early last year, and in December I had a Cystoscopy and Bladder Hydrodistention and was diagnosed with IC.
So ultimately my IC symptoms have been around for about a year.
Anyhow, I am knocking on wood when saying this, but after about 7 weeks of SR (Deep Breathing exercises while listening to Dr Jeffrey Thompsons Theta Meditation CD, twice a day) I really think I am seeing some improvement in my IC.
One of the things I notice most, is I seem to be able to tell when the muscles of my pelvic region are tense now, even when I'm not doing SR.
I am not sure about this, but I feel like I am begining to be able to relax them when I notice them tense.
I never had the really severe case of IC like I've read of some people having, but it still wasn't good for a 26 year old guy to deal with. My main symptoms were frequency, feeling like I had to go even when I really didn't, and I felt like I was having this "pressure" feeling, not really pain, down in my right testicle.
I have now come to the conclusion that the pressure symptom was little more than muscular tension, becuse its one of the things that's improving with my SR.
I am also noticing that when I have a worse day as far as symptoms go, maybe having to go to the bathroom more often, when I get home and do my SR after work, I can feel my symptoms decrease during the SR, and about an hour after SR, they are even better.
Is it possible I could be seeing some positive results in 6 or 7 weeks?
I read that you said SR takes 6-12 months for IC, but I starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Have you seriously seen more than just a couple people cure themselves of IC?
After only 7 weeks of this, I honestly feel like my life is already going back to normal again. I'm scared to get too excited because I know how tough dealing with this is, but I feel like I am gaining control of my body again.
Thank you for your advice and your wonderful site.

Thanks, JD.
This is about as early as one can get these kind of results. Just think how you are going to be doing in a year!
Congratulations! Your sharing your experiences will help others.
