hey there doctor Stoll. I have a quick question. I think I might have figured out what has been wrong with me. I am 32 years of age and I have always been a guy to not eat a healthy diet. I have often been guilty of not eating enough fiber in my diet. My biggest problems this time have been irritable bladder which I had 3 years ago. At that time, I figured out that I had not been getting ebough fiber in my diet and that the bowel was full of slow moving feces and was pushing in on my bladder and it could not empty properly and had decreased the capacity and also caused irritable bladder. I corrected my diet and added lots of fiber and things straightened up , almost perfectly. I am also the guy who asked you about problems with not emptying the urinary tract while urinating when I have a bowel movement. I have also noticed that at certain times when I sit in a car or a chair, I have lots of pressure pushing on the bladder. This can be eased by passing gas or having a bowel movement. In the past 3 days I have noticed considerable improvement after I started eating Kelloggs All Bran cereal. My bowel movements come with great ease and I no longer seem to have pressure in my rectal areas while sitting down. 90% of the time, I am able to empty my urinary tract while urinating sitting on the toilet during a bowel movement. I am also having less urinary dribble after I urinate standing up. My question is, Do I need to do Pelvic Exercises anymore??? WIll the bladder just continue to get stronger on it's own. I had all of these same symptoms back in 2000 and I got them totally cleared up. I think I did bladder training exercises. There is some reason I stopped doing the kegels back then also, I am just not sure if it was that I didn't need to do them. Trust me, once I get this taken care of, there wil be no more junk food and there wil be plenty of fiber in my diet. I have never been one to eat lots of fiber. I read on the interent that constipation will cause backed up stool to just sit in the bowel and push on the bladder and urethra. Anyone have any ideas about this??? I have been thru it 3 years ago, I just can't remember all I done to get it totally healed up. Thanks!

No doubt, Douglas. You've found the answer. Years ago, I tried using this weight loss product that ended up constipating me something awful. During that time, there was pressure on my bladder as well as my rectum. More discomfort when sitting than standing. My bladder did not empty totally, so I was running to the bathroom often. After I stopped using the weight loss product, my constipation ended and all the pressure I felt went away. I didn't do pelvic floor exercises, but my bladder went back to normal on its own.

Thanks, Douglas.
ALL chronic conditions are multifactorial in causation. Your solution is one of the less common causes but, for you it will serve until later. MY recommendation would be to still do the Kegels since it undoubtedly is a part of the problem. Eventually, even if you are a good boy about your diet, the problem will likely recur if you do not.
Cheezi, listen up :o)!
Hope this helps.
