Dear Dr. Stoll:
In my 8th month of pregnancy I ended up with what I thought was a bladder infection. It became so bad that I could barely stand up. No infection could be found. After two weeks the pain disappeared. A month after my delivery by c-section the pain returned and became progressively worse in a period of 4 months. I was tested and no infection could be found. After much research on the internet I became convinced that I had IC. Thank God I found your website. After one horrible evening, I was afraid I would have to live with bladder urgency and pain. I ordered the Stress Reduction and Relaxation workbook. I began the deep breathing, progressive relaxation and some meditation. Can you believe it? Within 3 days the symptoms were almost gone. Now, they have been completely gone for several months. Perhaps, because I had not suffered for years as some have, my symptoms left more quickly. At any rate, whenever I began to feel the tension, I began the deep breathing. I became aware that I was tensing my pelvic muslces (perhaps started in pregnancy to counter the pressure).....I am relieved at the change!
Many Many thanks for your insight and sincere concern for people's health!
