I began to feel "leaky" episodes of urine and a feeling of something "walking" inside my urethra. I went to the doctor, and he put me in antibiotics ( Levaquin, Cipro, Zythromax, Flagyl) and there was not improvement. He did a cistoscopy and diagnosed IC. It is common the incontinence in this condition?

Hi, Jayu.
Extremely common. Any doc who prescribes antibiotics for this is questionable. Just a simple microscopic examination of the urine would have said that antibiotics would not work.
Have you read the archives?

Hi, jayu.
How do you know you have IC? If you have definitely been diagnosed, have you read the arhcives about IC?

my doctor performed a cistoscopy, but the biopsia result was negative for IC, I read all the archives. My doctor doesn't know what is wrong with me. I continue with urine leakage, sometimes my urethra is irritated ( specially after taking some foods like coffee). The doctor ordered a TORCH profile, thinking that it can be a virus and the results were negative. All the U/C showed no growth, IVP normal and U/A results normal. What do you think, besides change my doctor, that I should do?

Hi, jayu.
How long have you had it, how old are you, how has this come on, are you male of female, etc.
THe IC diagnosis is NOT made by biopsy but by history and microscopic urine findings.
Since most conventional docs are helpless, in the face of what you have said, I think it would not help you to find another doc right now until we know more about YOUR condition.

I have this problem since November. It started with a sensation of something walking inside my urethra and a strong urge to urinate, but no pain or burning during urination. I'm 30 years, male. The other symptoms were mentioned in the previous messages,

Hi, jayu.
First, you need to get a microscopic examination of your urine before and after a prostate massage. The results of those examinations will tell the doc whether you have a bacterial infection of the bladder, one of the prostate OR posible IC.
Let us know what you learn.
