For Sylvie: Re: IC and UretirItis

I read your posts below and I wanted to tell what healed me from IC along with many other health issues

In my early thirties my body just seemed to fall apart. I developed chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, IBS, IC, panic atticks, anxiety and depression.

I suffered for years and tried everything that conventional and alternative medicine had to offer. I spent thousands of dollars on supplements, herbs, etc... nothing seemed to help much other than eliminiating some of the more common allergens from my diet (dairy, grains, soy)...this lead me to experiment more with diet and I did get a bit better but not much until I went on a raw diet. I was amazed that within days the pain from fibromyalgia went away. I was nearly totally bedridden previously!

The IC went away within a month of eating 100%. I've been mostly raw (90-95%) for the last 8 years and feel great and have none of the above symptoms of "dis-ease" above as long as I stay raw.

I really do think that cooking has something to do with it because the only time the IC threatens to come back is when I've haven too much cooked food. I can have small amounts of healthy, whole, vegan food occasionally but if I over do it I really suffer.

I've also heard of many other raw foodists healing similiar conditions... even chronic ones.

Another tip: I find that salt, spice, garlin, onions, and hot and spicy things seem to be irriting to my bladder..

Best to you!

Congratulations, Sally.

Another alternative for chronic bracing. This will help for a small % of people with this problem but not for the majority. I would be interested in hearing from anyone else who has resolved these problems by "going raw".

Sylvie,

Do you eat raw meat? I really want to try raw salmon but am scared of worms, I know you can freeze it but still worried. What meats do you eat raw? Do you eat raw eggs? I eat raw yolks but the raw whites irritate my stomach. What else do you eat raw?

Thanks,

Juli

Hi Sally,

No, I don't. I'm a vegan for both ethical and health reasons.. I have heard of raw foodists who eat raw fish, eggs, and meat but haven't met any. It doesn't sound very appealing to me. LOL.

Have a great day!

Hi Walt,

I also healed fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue and anxiety by going raw. I've also heard many testimonials of people healing fibro and CFS on a raw vegan diet. I've been a raw food coach for several years and I've never once seen anyone with fibromyalgia not experience tremendous relief from going raw. Most people's pain goes away very quickly on on all raw diet.

I have experience with a LFRV approach (low fat raw vegan) so I can't speak about other types of raw diets... but my theory is that it reduces the inflammation in the body that is triggering the systemic pain... I bet that is what is what is going on with IC too..

I've wondered if continued SR would enable the people who experience symptoms on cooked food but not on raw to be able to eat more cooked food with less problems. I still think that people with a genetic prediliction to inflammation and immune system over-response need to stay mostly raw to avoid pain and disease.. maybe SR would help heal the body to the point that it could once again handle increased amounts of healthy cooked foods without issue. I don't know.

I'm going to try it myself since I also experience a painful return of symptoms when I eat cooked food, even pretty benign whole foods like steamed veggies, tubers and beans. I'll let you know in a year.

Thanks, Audrey.

There are also people who have cured terminal cancers with the totally raw diet. There are famous clinics in Europe that turn people's health around by an intensive change to a totally raw diet for just a couple of weeks.

It does not work for everyone but DOES work for enough people that it certainly is worth while to do serious research in this area. Of course, it will never be done because there is no money in it. "Follow the money!"
