Dear DR STOLL,
I POSTED YOU A LONG MESSAGE YESTERDAY .I hope you saw it .I forgot to ask something and maybe other women with I.C has the same question.
I have a varient of I.C (UREHTRHITIS)but with symptoms every day.LESS NOW , but still a long way to go!!!(4/1/2 months of S.R ///SEE I am a good student of yours:-)
I have noticed that when i get my period ,the first 2 days my urethra symptoms seem to improve (less pressure of something stuck in there)could it be that i release tension on the onset of my period since my muscle is tense there all the time ??After a day or do ,it comes back so i do not know why.....
Anyway ,thanks for your answer .I was reading your topic on prostatis and it seems like it is just like interstitial cystitis and the"tight ass "syndrome (sorry i do not mean to be rude ,but it is the best to describe what i feel i have in the urethra )...like a ball stuck in the urethra.
anyway ,thank you and i hope that your answer will help other people with i.c to find a solution to their problem.
I keep doing the s.r religiously and hope i am on the right track(i still worry about my monkey mind....better than monkey business though :-)
namaste,
Georgia

Thanks, Georgia.
Don't worry about the 'monkey mind'. Even professional meditators have the problem sometimes. Just acknowledge it and go back to your procedure.
You are right about the similarities between IC and chronic prostatosis.
I, too, think the best description of the basic cause is "tight ass" but the connotations we put on this name do not necessarily go with every case.
Remember that the cycle of blood pooling in the pelvis tends to follow the actual menstrual cycle. Release at the time of the beginning of flow and a gradual build up, from there on, until the next flow. Those with pelvic muscle tension just accentuate this cycle of congestion.
Hope this helps.
