question on s.r ....and also i.c////Dr stoll

Posted by georgia on May 22, 2001 at 15:02:49:

Hello Dr Stoll,

I have been doing s.r for almost 6 months now for i.c (or urethritis)and i am doing better but ups and downs .some days better ,others no ,if i am stressed i feel more symptoms(andi am a type A i guess..and worry too much).
My question is ,how do i know i am on the right path??>
of course i expect fast results(wouldnt we all???) but i want to know i am doing the right thing.my biofeedback therapist tells me i do relax my body and go to alpha when i do it there but we concentrate more on the perineal muscle .i do kegel three times a day as well.I also see an homeoapth(classical md in homeopathy .100 per cent of homeopathy .35 years experience so i think he is good). My results are slow compare to what hoemopathy did before(i was symptoms free for monthsand did not change my diet etc...)
so i just need some advise, encouragements .etc..i do s.r twice a day )sometimes once a day on weekends i have to admit but i try to be disciplined.I also take yoga twice a week (the most i can ,having two jobs)so i try my best but feel discouraged at times,I am sure others feel the same ways so i hope my post helps them too.
I re-read all the testimonials to feel stronger and believe that i can do it too.I trust you Dr Stoll and i appreciate all your help.
is this normal to feel up and down at times ,or feel that i will not succeed (am i crazy or negative to believe that at times??)my boyfriend tells me i am negative (but i am only human trying to help myself the best i can)
my other question is ...i heard that some people having i.c (or urethritis)go on long term antibiotics and it works .maybe for some of us ,but for me ,i do not see myself doing that (already i ger yeat infection without antibiotics).what is your opinion on long term antibiotics if you do not mind me asking.
anyway ,that s all .i just wanted to give you an update and thank you for all your help .You are so far the only medical doctor who made sense to me about why we get i.c
again thank you for taking the time to answer me dr Stoll.
I d love to meet you someday.

namaste,

georgia

Hi, Georgia.

Since antibiotics can not possibly HELP I.C. the only effect you can get is from the complications of antibiotics.

ALL chronic conditions improve (IF the person is actually dealing with the causes) with exacerbations and remissions. The remissions are more and more common and last longer and the exacerbations are further and further apart, less severe and are shorter. The best way to document this is by keeping notes on your calendar. If you could look at the record of a year ago and today, what would you see?

Your TOTAL body bracing is a lot more important than concentrating on the levator ani muscle--even though that muscle IS the one causing the I.C. I hope you understand why that is.

Namaste`

Walt

I did the Dr. Fugozatto long term anti-biotic therapy thing for 6 months and it didn't do anything for me except give me yeast infections. I could never get my Dr. (or any other Dr.) to give me nystatin or diflucan for more than once or twice a month and I needed them all the time. I've had yeast problems ever since, but I have to admit I had some yeast problem before.

I'm feeling better today than I ever did doing the long term antibiotics. Susan on this list also posted that she did Dr. Fugozatto's protocol and only ended up worse for the wear. I think the chinese medicine and homeopathic remedies are probably more effective. But I'm certain after my experience that there may be some bacteria in my bladder, but they are not the entire cause of my symptoms.

Hi, Beth.

The fact that your doc equates Nystatin (100% safe forever) with Diflucan (never safe) tells me that he is really too ignorant about these drugs to be prescribing them. You could take Nystatin Powder every day for 100 years and never have any side effects other than your pocketbook would take a hit.
