…but I have shaman pants. Each of my pockets is a medicine bag
filled with great power. My wallet gives me identity and membership.
The keys transport me over great distances and gain entrance to
many places. Tokens of barter and ownership crinkle and jangle in
my pockets.
I thought I put Peace in there too, to have whenever I need it, but I
must have misplaced it. Can I find it in the bottom of the washer or
the dryer, or in another pair of pants? I don’t think so, and silly me,
Peace is too elusive to carry around in my pants like a hall pass.
I will have to find it along with Joy and Harmony and all the other
big-name denizens that live in the Hallelujah soul-pockets of the
Heart. It’s a little dark in there right now, and I need the precious
light of Love to help me look…now where did I put that Love? Sigh.

Jim,
You will find love right next to kindness. All you have to do is show a little kindness and and love will be right there. They follow each other around. Don't worry about the bling, because it doesn't bring happyness anyway.

We all feel we have no love from time to time. I used to feel exactly like you do, Jim. Then one day when I was visiting the mother of a good friend of mine in hospital, she said to me, "Zarin, you saved my daughter's life". I was so taken aback.
We all go through life giving and receiving love. Often we remain totally unaware. KNOW, you are loved. I love you Jim and I am sure everyone on this BB does too. You give so much to us all, allow yourself to receive.

Yo Zarin! Thanks for the kind words, but don't worry your head. I am not forlorn. I have plenty of love. But it is like my wallet and keys in that I sometimes misplace it.
It is the sense of peace that I have been looking for in the wrong places at this hectic time. And the joke on me is I cannot relocate the peace without the help of love...which is not gone, but sort of absent mindedly left about somewhere by me in my silly ways, which is probably why I am missing peace in the first place.
Sometimes I am foolish AND forgetful all at once!
I love you too.

Your keys and wallet are right where you left them.

Dear Jim, the rewards of being a school teacher is that you live somewhere in the nook and crannies of little kids' hearts where you will probably be rediscovered even when they are forty. (Did I tell you my husband is a retired phys ed teacher?)
As usual, I have to expound: Galation 5:22, The fruitage of God's spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control.
Ask and you shall receive.
If I could do the icons, I'd send you a BIG, RED, HEART

Sally,
I don't have the book of Galation in my Bible, but I do have the book of Galatians :o) " Against such things there is no law."

I understand the analogy completely. We are all guilty of occasionally misplacing our wallets and keys:-)))

Thank you, Sally, and the children will will probably be rediscovered in the nook and crannies of my heart in my eighties, if I make it that far.
All that "fruitage" of which the Bible speaks I have received in one quantity or another, though I don't recall asking for the "long suffering" one. Even so, it has been a bountiful crop, a difficult one I experience as a gift (in hindsight), and ultimately as a seed crop for some of the others.
