Solstice

Posted by jim H. [5199.4368] on December 21, 2007 at 11:08:00:

There is a longing of the heart that lies as beneath the soil as any
hopeful germinating desire of the plant world. Nature’s patterns
shape and move the soul. So it is, at this time, an imperceptible
warmth begins within us as the impersonal, mechanical mystery
passes its turning point:

Stellar driven gyroscopic
Planetary gadget thing,
Rube-ish Goldberg dynamatic
Temporal gizmo spinning ring.

See saw yo yo, pendulum sway,
Orbit tick tock, longer day.
Spiral mobius Escher ride,
Night recedes on ebbing tide.

Declination rocking polar
Bringing warmish brilliance solar.
Fallow day in germination,
Wakens from its hibernation.

Solstice promise can’t be seen,
Seeds that hold the coming green,
Bursting forth in life-force power,
Blooming color springtime flower.

All in time with metered seasons
Playing out in rhymes and reasons.
