resistance and destiny

Posted by Jim H. [5199.4418] on January 04, 2008 at 06:39:10:

Walt, I've been thinking about "the Truth" that bracing resists...and the
tremendous toll on the body and soul caused by the struggle between
bracing and "That" which is blocked.

ahhh akin to Buddhism? Not living in yesterday or tomorrow, but in the
now, and dealing with the now - the joy and suffering - accepting and
going forward....

I may be wrong; I admit - but that is what your post reminded me of or
inspired me to think of.

What conclusion did you come too or did you just get a headache thinking about it?

I've been reflecting on this myself.

Didn't give me headache....

But the conclusion I came to is DON'T RESIST.

Hi Jim,

Bracing sure uses up a lot of the body's energy.... often resulting in fatigue.

Best wishes,
Jan

I should have written that I have been "experiencing", rather than
"thinking about". I think, Walt, that you believe that only a small part
of the cause of bracing is from the psychological arena. I'm not
raising that issue. Once set, my experience of bracing is that it
becomes personified. Once established, it takes on a life of its own.

As our unwise life choices lead us closer to the cliff, as you might
say, the bracing response becomes like an electronic dog collar, that
would keep us in our own yard, our own mostly unconscious arena,
fenced in by discomfort.

What truthful perspectives, what powerful personality traits, what
yearnings of the soul, and what self-filling destiny is stifled behind
the "electronic fence" of our own physiology gone askew?

It is hard enough in a judging world, to display one's talents, and live
out one's own unique ideas and destiny, especially when one moves
outside prescribed doctrine and accepted practice. To do that, one
has to deal with great discomfort and pain. I think of you in this
regard.

Dysautonomia, with its powerful tools of discomfort and pain of all
sorts, gets to the point where it controls us. Even the slightest
psychological discomfort triggers bracing, and an outrageous
overreaction that can paralyze.

What I sense in the chronically ill is a great yearning potential
beneath a dampening of spirit and a truncated life. The road to
salvation seems to lead through the body.
