My uniary tract problems have improved a lot. All of the
pressure and most of the burning sensations have ended.
Still have a little problem controling the urge. The
cranberry juice got rid of the pressure sensation fast and
adding boiled cayenne salt to the juice seemed to lessen
the burning thought it made it taste like it was 150 proof.
I need to try more.
I had blood in urine test strips so tried to check for
blood since my urine went red after the cayenne. I got no
indication but I saw the strips were past the EXP date so
went to buy new ones but couldn't find them. I found urine
infection strips so picked them up. Thet came up negative
but Then I notied They were 6 mo past the Exp date so not
sure about them. The red color went away. I also notice a
lack of a pause and then small amount of flow that I think
has been happening for a long time. Wondering if I fixed
whatever was causing that. Live and learn...

Vince.
Blood in the urine, that goes away, can be an early warning sign of some pretty serious conditions. SO, you need to be sure that this is not happening asymptomaticaly. To do so, you need to get a bottle of the blood test strips and test your urine at least once a day for a minimum of a month to several months. One more "show" is indication for a complete urinary workup ASAP. This would include at least an IVP and cystoscopy.

Walt,
my experience with MD's has never been good and I have
had to figure out the cause of most of my problems by
myself and correct bad diagnosis and my current situation
while severly disabled.
First time a Dr told me I had blood in my urine 10 yrs
ago also told me the things that helped me were the Wrong
things to take even though it was bicarb taken for heartburn
but he was refering to an acid condition I felt I had
it helped my central vision return and I had seen my blood
gases test results and my Ph was off scale acid. Gave me a
physical and checked my prostrate before asking for a urine.
Called me back for another test saying there was blood in my
urine. I asked the nurse what could cause that and she said
he Could have bruised my prostate checking it like she Knew
that was his sequence. I asked her why he didn't check it
After collecting urine and she just shrugged. They called me
back for a 3rd test and I forgot about this guy even though
he was an interest at the Univ Of Penn hospital I didn't
think the guy was very sharp or could figure things out. A
diet the nurse had handed me was out of step with current
thinking by a couple years still listing Olive Oil as the
worst oil to use though I had figured that out years before
and I am starting to hear what I believed that it isn't the
worst OR the best and that was from the #'s in a newsletter
I saw from the AM Heart Assn.
Next Dr I believe said he saw blood but maybe not Wouldn't
do a blood test for what he Said I had, M.E. and gave me a
reprint of a study on it saying the RBC's get spherical and
rigid from chemical exposures because he said it cost 100$,
had to be sent to Ca. and wasn't accepted yet so wouldn't
hold up in court. I Wanted To Know if that Was my problem or
did I Need to look at something else.
My normal Dr who whan i asked him why i nedded salt just
function in the heat in 80' and said if it works to do it
when the news warned against taking any salt and i had
to take a salt pill every 15 min to function in the heat and
found that out when i tried salt after everything else when
I was disoriented in the heat. He had a girl that looked
like he pulled in off the street test my urine and claimed
she found blood when i went to him for pain killers after
eating something questionable and falling asleep and waking
up bloated and because I sait it started with a short
burning sensation in my kidney area he wanted to do an
ultra sound. That was 5 yrs ago. I refused since I had had
the same thing happen a few days before that I felt was
food then also and it hasn't happened since.
After my experience at Penn I bought, Blood in Urine
strips and Never found blood and was surprized it often
indicated the Vit C in my urine and usually think I don't
eat many C containing foods.
Don't know where I'm going to get the Blood Test strips
since 3 drug stores say they don't carry them and trying to
order them may be a supreme hassle since the drugists look
at me strange when I said I wanted them and my experiences
with MD's had been Poor as with my mother's Dr's. I have
Wondered if I could make my Own test for blood since That
might be easier.

Hi, Vince.
Blood test strips for urine checks are a major public health mechanism. The pharmacist who gave you a funny look needs to reconsider his public service function.
Chains tend to have a policy of not carrying things that get old quickly (This is one of those.) If more physicians cared enough about their patients to tell them about these, they would not GET old on the shelf.
Go to an independent druggist and have him order a bottle for you.
