Re: Chrondomalacia: Paging Dr. Ferguson

I don't mean to sound rude, but Walt, who are you and where do you get your information? This diagnosis is so new to me and I have just started to gather information. If I am going to try this kind of regimen I like to know who it is that has suggested it.
Other questions: Would a chiropracter help? I have a spa but it doesn't seem to give me much relief, does it for others? What is the difference between glucosamine sulfate and the nabumetone that my doctor has suggested? What are the oils that you referred to?

Dear Glenda,

Go to the FAQ page and you will find abbreviated articles about "who I am". THEN, if you still have questions, wrtite again.

My apologies. I now know who you are (and am impressed by your philosophies). I was confused by the ask Dr. Ferguson. I found this page by using a search engine.
Since I wrote in, I have begun physical therapy. I am in more pain than I was before. The anti-inflammatories do not seem to be helping. The Physical Therapist seems to be confused as to why I am feeling more pain. He says this is not the time for the "More pain, more gain" theory. Would an acupunturist or chiropractor be the answer?

Dear Glenda,

You are going to have to remind me of your problem, what Doc Dave recommended and what you are presently doing.

My doctor informed me that I have chrondomalacia patella and prescribed Relafen. I also started PT 2x wk. PT is not helping. I have attended approx. 5 sessions. I am in more pain now than I was before.
I am 43 years old. I have always had aching in my knees. It has gotton worse, especially to my right knee where I endured a severe blow when I was 18 in a car accident. (My knees are both extremely noisey.)
Is there anything else I can do to help myself? Do you agree with the program set forth
by my doctor? How can I become better educated? I am not finding much about chrondomalacia or relafen on the Internet.
Any help would be appreciated.

Dear Glenda,

Has your present "doc" not told you about glucosamine? Even your veterinarian could do better than that. The essential oils on the FAQ page will also help without risk.

I hope Doc Dave sees your note because I know he can give you some hints. Also, this has been discussed a lot on this bb. Everything has been archived up to 2 months ago. Look in the archives. If you do not hear from Doc Dave in a few days, repost your note with his name in the title to draw his attention.

Are you telling the PT people that you are getting worse with their "help"? Also, you need to tell your doc.

Walt
