Symptoms Driving Me "NUTS"?

Posted by Cara on April 27, 2002 at 00:26:06:

OK. I can't for the life of me figure out what the heck is going on. I seemed to be plagued by this ANNOYING, NAGGING, ALWAYS there feeling in the PIT of my abdomen. I'm asuming it's my stomach. The GI tells me I have gastritis. Fine, who cares, but this other thing has got to go!! However, he can't seem to tell me a thing. Here are the symptoms I went in with. Maybe someone here could shed just a "Little" light in perhaps telling me what it MIGHT be.......

This annoying pain never really goes away. It's not really "Pain", just VERY uncomfortable, annoying and nagging. I get this feeling like something's STUCK, or that perhaps something's sitting on my stomach. Like as if I could let out the LARGEST burp (and I can't even do that)that it might perhaps go away. This feeling is with me even when I don't eat. I find myself wanting to just go into the bathroom to try and push what ever it is OUT! So I'll force myself at times to vomit just because I can't "STAND" it anymore and by forcing myself to do this, I feel SO MUCH better when I'm done. However it only lasts about a half an hour. I could hang my head over the bowl for hours and just "FORCE". The FORCING itself seems like a massage in a way. Like it's relieving what ever it is that's bothering me. I could be driving down the street and want to pull over so bad to do this because this thing WON'T GO AWAY! Something's stuck, I just know it and it's not the gastritis! When I do this, nothing really comes up. Not even acid. Perhaps water, but that's it.PLEASE, what the h*** is it. Why wont it go away? It's VERY, I tell you VERY uncomfortable. I've also had a CT-Scan and an abdominal ultrasound and everything's fine.....Something's just NOT working. Does anyone have any ideas? Dr.Stoll?
I'm at my wits end!

-Cara

Have you tried digestive enzymes?

I've found that I have less stomach problems, less gas, and generally feel better after eating when I take enzymes. My holistic healer suggested Rainbow Light brand called Advanced Enzyme System. It helps me digest everything I eat better...... it has the Amylase, Lipase, Protease, Lactase, Papain, etc.

I've thought about the digestive enzymes for better digestion, BUT I've been afraid to take them. I imagine you don't just walk in to a health food store and purchase just any one. I wouldn't have a clue as to which to purchase. Maybe if I ask a nutritionist? Do you think that's the problem though? I feel this way even on an empty stomach, but maybe just a bit more when I do eat. Hmmm Are digestive enzymes SAFE to just take? Or should one ask their doc first.

Thank You ;)

Hi, Cara.

Glad to hear that you went to the doctor about all this stuff and had some testing done. You're probably right to go with the digestive enzymes. There are lots of them out there, but I like one that has bromelain and papain, along with a whole list of other antioxidants, etc. Nothing artificial, very safe. I'm not familiar with many but this one, so can't help much further than that.

Hi, Cara.

LGS, LGS, LGS, LGS.............

Since your doc doesn't have a clue, you are going to have to be the expert. Start with the glossary for any unfamiliar terms and then graduate to the home page articles and the archives until you begin to understand: LGS (leaky gut syndrome), bracing, stress & SR (skilled relaxation). If you need more convincing, read Dr Pelletier's book (referenced in the above).

Understand that learning is the first thing and the easiest. Next is the DOING and that is harder. The resolution to problems like this is never something you TAKE but always something you DO!

Let us know what you learn and any clarifying questions you may develop. Then pay for the information by sharing your progress, as you get well, with others on the bulletin board (BB) so they have the option to not suffer as you have.

This is a TOTALLY unnecessary condition.

Walt
