Candida yeast or Leaky gut - Doctor recommendation

Posted by Jody on April 28, 2002 at 09:56:13:

For 20yrs I've had excessive yeast in the vagina (not a yeast infection) The discharge is creamy but not cheesy. I've just recently tried douching with distilled water and tea tree oil with the best relief yet. The yeast is more excessive when I consume breads, pasta, sweets. So I (try) to stay away from those foods. Gynocologists say its normal!. Its not normal! Some bloating and stomach girgling when I consume any foods. I feel better when I dont eat. I'm 6yrs divorced at 40yrs old. I've been treated for STD's all negative. My male sex partners over the yrs have complained of irritation or tingling in the penis, no rash. I'd like to find a specialist in the Boston area. Any recommendations?

Hi Jody,
It sounds like you do have candida. You can cure it by recommendations from the board. You can go on the candida diet and take herbs or supplements. It does take about
6 months......Do you have any other symptoms?
Would you be interested in any more information?

I agree with Barb. The fact that the symptoms are worse when you eat those foods you mentioned are a sure sign that you have Candida not only in your vagina, but in your intestines as well, thus the bloating and gurgling from any foods. You probably have leaky gut (LGS) as well. You are also passing on the vaginal yeast on to your sex partners. I don't understand how your doctor can say you do not have an infection, especially with this evidence. I have suffered from many of your symptoms for a long time, so what I am saying is based on experience plus learning about this problem from extensive reading and research. If you go to the home page, you will see a glossary, articles and archives you can research for info. Start by clicking on glossary for CR-S, Candida and LGS. Also, read about the wellness three-legged stool. There are many things you can do do overcome your situation. BTW, are you going through menopause yet? Any signs that you are perimenopausal? have you taken or are you taking birth control pills. Have you taken many antibiotics? These can contribute to your symptoms. Anyway, that's a start. Good luck, and come back to the board with more questions after you've read all you can.

I have had Jody's exact same problem for years. It's very frustrating. Candida diet never seemed to help me. Primal Defense was helping, now I'm having a yeast outbreak. I don't know if it's part of my healing crisis or what. I've had problems with parasites for years also. I cannot get rid of them.

Hi, Jody.

Listen to CBK, Naya & Barb.

There is little doubt that you have LGS and probably C-RS as well. That is a LOT different than a localized candida vaginitis--although related.

Until you deal with the causes of LGS, I am afraid that you will continue to have all your symptoms.

Look at the holistic practitioners archives to get on the trail of whoever there may be in the Boston area.

Let us know what you learn and how you do.

Hi Jody,

You may want to check out the Marino Center for Progressive Health - they have offices in Davis Square, Wellesley and Dedham. Dr. Pugh may be a good person to start with.

Marino Center locations

They are not perfect, but are way ahead of the usual conventional doctors, use the very best labs for testing (e.g. Great Smokies), offer a range of complimentary healing methods and have a supplement store on the premises.

I would first recommend that your educate yourself on this site as much as possible. Read the articles on the home page and "Archive" topics on candida, bracing, skilled relaxation (SR), and leaky gut. Only then will you have a more holistic perspective on how all your symptoms are interrelated and how you can ultimately return to optimal health.

Best wishes!

Hi Jody,
What have you taken to get rid of parasites?
Did you take any anti-fungals for the Candida? There are some excellent anti-funals for Candida. I ended up taking
duclican and it took care of it. Helping you recommends something for candida, and I just can't remember it. If you are interested, just post to him. He is very helpful with candida information, and so is SHAPE. Have you tried raw garlic for parasites?

I havent taken anything, just trying to control diet. The doctors fluff me off. Instead just treat the vagina. I think I need some new doctors

I had frequent yeast infections when I was younger and before I got off the anti-biotic roller coaster. One thing that worked then for me was douching with lukewarm water & borax. I have long since forgotten where I learned of this but it was the only thing that really worked. One doctor was writing me a script for another antibiotic and told me that he would go ahead and write out one for the yeast afterward. I told him that would'nt be neccessary as I had my own surefire cure for yeast. He asked what it was and I told him, borax. He was quiet at first but after thinking it over agreed and said he had'nt thought of that. What do you think about that Dr Stoll?

Thanks, Carol.

Everything I have been taught tells me that this should not work. However, I am a great pragmatist and, in your case it did.

This warrents archiving for others to try. I hope everyone who does will share their experiences with the rest of us.
