many symptoms!

Hi Dr. Stoll, I have been experiencing a host of strange symptoms for 2 yrs now. 50 hicups or so every day, yellow and green diarrhea that smells horrible, abdominal pain right under my ribcage slightly to the left of center, heartburn, my food seems to just sit in my stomach forever, belching, swollen eyes and somethimes my face gets red and swollen and sometimes very pale with dark circles under my eyes, pain that radiates into my left shoulder and into my back, bouts of weakness, chills, headaches, some weight loss. My derm says I have rosacea but why does it only act up when everything else acts up? It all gets worse together in flares. I can't tell you how many times I have gone to the doctor in the last few years! I have been on countless drugs that were worse than the symptoms sometimes! I am negative for Lupus, my liver is OK, upper GI normal except the lower part of my espohagus is weak and bulges when I swallow, ultrasound normal, MRI of brain normal, no indication of IBD or parasites in my stool, etc etc. Now they just think I'm crazy or depressed and I only get an incredulous look when I go to see a doc now. I have been taking things into my own hands now for a while and discovered certain food allergies that were not there before. Gluten, soy, milk and am avoiding those things. I have just started taking a lot of Betaine HCL which seems to be helping a lot but everything is still there to a certain degree. What could be going on? I am also taking MSM, olive oil, E, C, B complex, and a few others. Have tried following a yeast diet but didn't find that it was very helpful. My skin has calmed down a lot since starting on the hydrochloride. I am only 28 so Rosacea seems weird. since it all started together I am suspicious! I am not crazy! This is my body and I know somethings not right! Thanks.

Hi, Rachael.

With as much evaluation as you have already had, the only possible diagnosis is LGS with possible C-RS and parasitosis.

I would bet my king size bed that your docs had a local lab check for parasites: worse than nothing.

If you have not already, go to the glossary for any unfamilliar terms and start with LGS, C-RS, Parasitosis, laboratories, SR, etc. Then go to the archives until you begin to see how this is all connected and what you are going to have to do about it.

Let us know what you learn.

Thanks Dr. Stoll. My specimins were sent to a local lab. How do I get evaluated by a lab that is reliable? Also, I neglected to mention that this all started when I was on long term antibiotics for acne a few years ago. I have not taken them since but I guess once things are off kilter it keeps on going. I'm angry that Doctors are so willing to prescribe something with such dire consequences so casually. So I guess what I'm hearing is that I CAN get this under control. Why would the hydrochloride tablets be helpful like they are sometimes? Do I also not have enough stomach acid? Why? If I have parasites will they go away with the diet and supplements after a time or will I need additional medication? I couldn't find anything about that in the archives. Sorry if I'm taking up too much of your time but I have been dealing with this a long time and am desperate!

Hi, Rachael.

Call the Great Smokies Diagnostic Labs (see the laboratory archives) and ask them for the closest docs who would know what to order and what to do about the results. This will require a comprehensive stool analysis and at least 5 purged stool analyses.

Let us know what you learn.
