A Gallstone Question

Posted by Rebecca on May 20, 2002 at 00:38:48:

I always fear I may have gallstones. I never get pain, I eat anything with no repercussions. Does this mean I have a good chance of not having them? I do a get a weird gurgling and yucky feeling below the breastbone that I have read others have but so no answer to this in the archives. I only get these feelings when eating a few certain foods, could be an ulcer. Can someone shed some light on all of this? I have no symptoms of gerd or lgs from what Ive read in the archives, but I do suffer with severe anxiety and worry a lot of the time.

Rebecca,

Go to your lending library and have them find you a copy of "The Second Brain. A Groundbreaking New Understanding of Nervous Disorders of the Stomach and Intestines" by Michael Gershon, MD, 1999.

Dr Gershon is a full profesor of anatomy and cell biology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Since 1962, he has been involved in research in this area and has published more than 300 papers.

Let us know what you learn.

Walt
