stomach digestion for both of us

Posted by DeniseB. on June 17, 2002 at 09:10:04:

My husband and I have been battling with stomach problems. A md diagnosed him with acid reflux and gerd and the meds did not show any improvement. He went to a chiro and was muscle tested and she put him on gastrics a standard process formula(he started feeling a lump in throat and worse heartburn symtoms ever)Lots of belching. When the md diagnosed him all he was was bloated no acid feeling problems. I bought some DGL for him and he can not tolerate the taste and he wants to throw up when he tries it. WHen he drinks coke-lemon juice he says that helps sometimes. Should he see a specialist. As for me I can not empty bowels my stomach feels really inflamed-I also belch alot and when i eat food sits in lower abdomen and i feel miserable. We both also have body aches-when I tried the lemon juice my body aches went away. But felt woozy after. ANtiacids also make me feel woozy. I have done the fiber and mo with no improvement. I am wondering if I have built up bowel in stomach or something? I know this sounds crazy but won;t come down.I tried the DGL and my stomach inflamed more. The chiro also told me I needed the gastrics supplement also-did not improve bowel fucnction. We just don;t know what to do and fed up with this. I have tried buying gingerroot but since we don;t have a juicer and tried juicing it other ways and don;t get any juice out of it-I stopped buying the root. WOuld pills work? How do we figure this out? I need to get my bowels going-by the way my husband gets the opposite diarrehea. Wish I could be so lucky.

I am so sick today and went back to the chiro that does muscle testing. She says everything is working fine! I am so tired of this! If everything is working fine why can i go? WHat other facters cause constipation,I have lost 9 lbs cause of stress(but she says I am handling it ok now) My lyph nodes are swollen now under left arm and neck glands. She won;t even check food allergies. She check hormonal.
I took fiber the other day now I am paying for it even with mo. I feel so tired, hurt all over, woozy. She made me an appt with a gastral specialist. I take things for awhile than they work and than they stop working. I am doing candida things-laxatives(don;t do nothing anymore)fiber neither. I am so sick of this! Eyes are blurry and coughing up phelm too.I feel internal shakiness- I asked to muscle test my brain but she said I am fine. UGH!

He should be tested for stomach acid deficiency which is what this sounds like. The Heidelburg Gastric Analysis is the best way to do this. It is a conventional test so any doctor should be able to refer you to this. Please let me know the outcome

Denise.

It seems to me that with all you must be paying for all this evaluation and treatment, you might find at least 100 used juicers on the internet for your husband's ginger root juice.

Next, with all the evaluationyou have had, a blockage is not possible to miss. The laws of physics insist that the proper dose of psyllium seed (or any other kind of fiber supplement), along with the proper dose of MO, MUST work! Neither works right away but at the pace of your transit time. Of course you already know that if you have read the archives about this. A hypotonic colon is the most likely cause of your experience.

By the way, the proper term for feces is either that, stool or bowel movement---not bowel. Bowel is the term for the intestinal tract and usually reserved for the large intestine.

What are either of you doing about SR?

Walt

Hi, Denise.

A hypotonic colon is when aging (premature or natural) has reduced the strength of the colonic smooth muscle--just like couch potatoes lose voluntary muscle mass.

The only thing I know to do about THAT would be to do the things that are now known to reverse the aging process (see the aging & wellness archives) and keep large amounts of mass in the colon to give it's muscles more leverage to move things along (fiber and MO).

Hope this helps.

Walt
