reoccurring yeast 18 mos old boy

My 18 mos old son has a reoccurring yeast infection under his diaper, that goes away for a few days with OTC medications as prescribed by his pediatrician, then returns after a few days. This has been going on for 2 mos. He also has a rash around his mouth that has developed in the past month, that diminishes off and on.

I have been hesitant to take him back to the doctors office because of recent mercury issues Ive discovered via my own health issues(mercury used in vaccinations, as hes behind due to manufacturer delays) Also, I'm not sure of my pediatrics position on mercury and yeast. . . how to or if I should approach her on this. Im very concerned that the yeast is secondary and that mercury levels may be the culprit. It is odd that out of the five children only two were breast-fed and they both had/have yeast problems. My daughter, who is five now doesnt show signs of having yeast problems any longer, but had thrush, vaginal yeast & eye infections until age 2+. Im in the process of being tested for mercury and other metals and removing amalgam fillings, three out of fourteen have gone bad. And during the time I was pregnant and breast feeding I had a strong metallic taste in my mouth. I Immediately 4 weeks postpartum tested positive for reactivated EBarrVirus and then became hypothyroid. My symptoms are odd and long. Also, concerned he could have gotten mercury via my fork over the past months, eating from my plate, which I no longer do.

Foods to avoid for him to reduce the yeast or foods to increase? Other medications that may nip this(herbally)?
Any suggestions on talking about mercury with the pediatrician or shouldnt I do that? IS it probable that he has gotten mercury from me in some way, and what is the possible way if so?

Thanks
Tammy

Hi, Tammy.

He has pediatric LGS with secondary C-RS.

See the glossary for any unfamiliar terms and then the archives to understand what to do.

Basically, he needs a perfect whole foods diet, Pure Nystatin powder (750,000 units 4 times a day) for at least a month and some form of probiotics.

Let us know what you learn and how he does.

Walt

I'm wondering since you mention that only the two kids who were/are breast fed developed yeast, if you have yeast yourself with just subtle symptoms and are transmitting it to the kids via the breast milk. Might be worth asking your doctor if that is a possible method of transmission.
