Dear Tom,
Remembering that diet is probably the least important (of the 3 wellness horsemen) for LGS while skilled relaxation is the most important, I would recommend your asking Robert McFerran (on this BB) this question. Also reading what we have archived about his work would get you a big start.

Tom,
The first order of business is probably to forget all the things that you thought that you knew about the relationship between IBS and food. I've worked with a few folks with this condition and they were constantly trying to force fit what I suggested into a frame of reference that they had learned from their allopathic or alternative docs.
IF you are ready to do this you need to:
- Run an elimination diet (specified in the archive section of this website) to remove and then detect major hidden food allergens.
- Move to a WHOLE FOODS diet that matches your inherited metabolic type. There are three general metabolic subsets and their are specific questions to help you determine which one is appropriate for you.
- Remove a handful of lectin containing foods that are known to react with your blood type.
These changes aren't easy because basically you have to start cooking for yourself rather than eating out -- but I'm confident that it's a good formula for determining the 'best' diet for healing your leaky gut.
