Hi,
I've had LGS for about a year and a half. Recently I read an article about coffee-drinkers being magnesium deficient, so about a month and a half ago I began supplementing with Magnesium glycinate by Metagenics, as was suggested in the archives. Not only has my chronic depression *completely lifted*, but overall I feel incredibly better. In addition, my allergic responses, both food and environmental, have diminished considerably. I got on the 'net and did find an article linking magnesium deficiency with food allergies. . .
While this may not work for everyone it has certainly helped me.

Yes, but I have cut *way down* to one cup per day. My rheumatologist did tell me years ago, when I had fibromyalgia, that I was magnesium deficient, and I did supplement with mag oxide for a while. (Back then I didn't know about the higher absorption of glycinate.) To be honest once my LGS-related problems began I took a zillion supplements for that and stopped doing the mag. Now, after seeing incredible results moodwise, I'm convinced that mag deficiency has been the root of my depression for years. . . no allopath would ever tell me that! They'd much rather put people on Prozac, etc. . . .

I'm going to try the mag glycinate again. Haven't take it in years. Thanks so much for this bit of info. I HOPE it works for me, as I have LGS and depresssion, too.
