Leaky Gut

Posted by Ed DeCelie on October 06, 1998 at 16:45:29:

Hi,
My wife is an RN and as such I have a diffcult time getting her to try anything which has not been peer reviewed by only the most reputable journals. Can you tell me where articles regarding Leaky Gut have been published? Is this widely accepted? I have seen authors blaming leaky gut for all conditions which afflict mankind as well as the disapperance of the dinosaur. Please substantiate this.

Ed,

Why would ANYONE want to take the time to substantiate something (in this case leaky gut) to someone that isn't going to believe it unless it meets THEIR criteria ('peer reviewed by only the most reputable journals')!? This strikes me as an absurd request. Sort of like 'looking a gift horse in the mouth'.

Any person with as much experience in the medical industry as an R.N. would certainly understand the simple and powerful logic of the tie between leaky gut and disease IF they read ANY of the articles on this site or (even better) read Dr. Stoll's book.

Most of the folks here don't have a medical background yet the simple logic from Dr. Stoll's explainations compells them to experiment by making some changes. Once they EXPERIENCE positive results they are compelled to investigate and experiment even further.

You and/or your wife are asking for a gift (someone to make an EFFORT to help you understand the connection between leaky gut and several chronic conditions) yet you want to deny the fact that it IS a GENUINE gift.

Why even bother? You and/or your wife should be quite happy to stay with all of the established therapies for chronic conditions that have ALREADY received 'peer review by only the most reputable journals'. God knows there are enough of them to keep you busy til you die.

Bob

Ed.

I have a copy of a 1995 article by Leo Galland, M.D., titled "Leaky Gut Sydromes: Breaking the Vicious Cycle," that lists 153 references, many of which are journal articles pertaining to leaky gut (aka intestinal permeability). I pulled the article off the internet--can't remember from where, but I probably found it by doing a search for "leaky gut." Dr. Galland also has published a book called "The Four Pillars of Healing" that discusses leaky gut.

Thanks, Vicki, for the resources.

I know Leo well & he knows what he is talking about.

This is a great example of the conventional medical monopoly saying "there are no articles". When someone doesn't want to know something, and there are 1000 articles supporting the concept, they will ask for 1001.

It is not enough that they see "incurable" conditions clearing up by those "quacks" treating LGS. They continue to insist that LGS does not exist and that the incurable conditions are still incurable.

How much longer will the public let these bozos get away with this?

Walt
