It depends on what YOUR body is missing. However, there are some general supplements that seem to help most people with leaky gut:

1. Fish oil or Cod liver oil
2. Primal Defense
3. Butyrate
4. L-Glutamine
5. Vitamins/Mineral that are in a highly usable form such as in whole food products like green food supplements
6. Digestive Enzymes
7. Anti-inflammatory herbs like cats claw.

There are many nutrients that can be helpful, but you will not heal without correcting diet and stress levels. I hope that helps you

Isn't butyrate a prescription for depression?

Butyrate is a supplement for a natural by-product of fermentation caused by bifidus feeding on fiber in the colon. The by-product is called Butryic acid. This substance has been shown to fuel the lining of the colon, supress tumer growth, and naturally deoderize the intestinal tract. People with lower levels of this subtance are more prone to colon cancer. This by-product is measured with the Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis (CDSA).

No, not at all. Taking bifidus can increase butyrate levels. Butyrate PROTECTS your colon!
