Dear Dr. Stoll,
It's time to reinstate an unwavering approach to my health. You treated me back in the 80's for systemic candidiasis, and I believe I have elapsed back into a full-blown case due to sloppy lifesytle choices.
While thumbing through my thick "holistic" file in hopes of finding the exact protocal for taking the powder form of Nystatin, I realized how profoundly thorough and attentive you were to my needs as a patient. No matter how far and wide my husband and I search, we will NEVER find a physician as astute, capable and caring as you were!
Back to the Nystatin---what type of water did you recommend we use? Was it mineral? We have the Rainsoft water purifying system in our home and wondered if that would be acceptable for mixing with the powder. Can we blend a day's worth at a time? Any other suggestions?
Bruce and I plan to do the Nystatin powder for a while and are considering going the Primal Defense route thereafter. Of course, we understand that our diet must be perfect: free of any sugars, whole foods only, and no fruit the first month. We have an old copy of The Yeast Connection (1986) and are using that as a reference.
Correct me if I am off course.
My life took a totally new direction with your influence back in the 80's. THANK GOD! Please help me reestablish the path to good health.
Eager to get started---Kay!

Hi, Kay (& Bruce).
YOU, "making sloppy lifestyle choices"? Will wonders never cease :o). I guess you are human after all. Sigh!
Since the dose of mixed up Nystatin is so small I do not believe it matters what water you use. Your filtered water would be fine. If you recall I mixed up a whole month's supply at a time. The other alternative is to take it dry but it is hard to measure such a small amount. Of course the only risk is that you might spend more $ to do the job.
Primal Defense was not yet available back when we were working together or I might have known enough to use it then.
Let us know how you do.
Namaste`
Walt

Dr. Stoll when you mixed a months supply what was the ratio of mineral water to nystatin?

Hi,Bruce.
I don't remember but the PDR says how much volume has how many international units of Nysttin in it. You want to dilute it to where a teaspoon of the liquid equals 750,000 units. As I recall, about 1/4 teaspoon of the fluffy powder equaled 750,000 units.
I just weighed out the amount of powdered Nystatin that provided a month's supply of 4 times a day when mixed in a pint bottle. It has been 10 years since I mixed or weighed out the powder so I do not remember the exact amount.
Hope this helps.
Walt

I just scooped 1/4 teaspoon of powder into my mouth and let the saliva wet it, swished it around for awhile and swallowed...it's easier than bothering with and worrying about the water and it tastes about the same....
