upcoming surgery

Dear Dr. Stoll,
I came upon your website while trying to find out more on LGS, which I became aware of last year. At the time, I had severe pain on my left side which my gynecologist thought was an ovarian mass. He did a laparoscopy and confirmed that I had lots of endometriosis, but my primary problem was acute diverticulitis. He also said he found lots of fluid in my gut and he cleaned it out. The gyne said "when they resect your bowel, you should have a hysterectomy, too."He also said my bowel, uterus, ovary and bladder are all stuck together with scar tissue on my left side. I went on various diets and regimens to help heal the diverticulitis and believe I have been successful. I guess my question to you is - do I want to open a can of worms and have a hysterectomy? I have terrible periods and ovulation pain, and he thinks this time the endometriosis is around one of my kidneys and has blessed me with a kidney infection. I'm 45 years old, and thought I was in excellent health until the last 2 years. I just don't relish the thought of bladder or kidney problems, but don't really know what i'm getting into if i have surgery. If you can follow this, I'd appreciate any light you can shed.
Thank you,
Linda T.

Dear Linda,

There is no way you can have this combination of conditions without having Candida-Related Syndrome and you could not have that without having LGS.

Go to the archives for this 'site and read all you can find about LGS, C-RS & endometriosis.

Although you probably could get temporary relief from having everything removed that does nothing about WHY you have this & something new will run up & bite you on the b--t in a few years.

Since you have so much scarring, you may still need surgery in the future-----even when the causes for the problems are gone. HOWEVER, you will be a lot healthier at that time & will withstand surgery better AND heal a lot faster if you have dealt with those causes by that time.

Once you get into this you are gonna get angry at your docs for refusing to learn about this. You could have been spared ALL of this.
