Need to find out if anyone out there has any helpful or useful information on this scary and rare auto immune disorder? Treatments? outlook? What works, what doesn't? The doctors don't seem to know too much about it and quietly suggested we be open to altnerative therapy. Help! Best wishes to every one for the New Year!

I found the following in the OLMD: (also linked below, so you can use the hypertext links)
Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis
Clearly this does not help **me** answer your question, but it may help others here to help you.

Catherine,
The time will come when alternatives are suggested first for chronic conditions and ONLY when they are ineffective will conventional medicine be called in. NOW, it is backward: conventional medicine must have exhausted itself before alternatives are considered.
Anyhow, this is GUARANTEED, leaky gut syndrome and all of the ideas on this 'site about the causes and what to do about it are on this 'site. Go to the homepaqe first and go where that leads you. Then go to the glossary next and finally use the search engine and go to the archives.
THEN, if you still have questions, write again.
When you see how easy this is to resolve, you are going to be angry at what you have gone through. You might use some of that energy to confront your present "stumped" docs in the hope that some of them will learn something and thus be more open to helping others with this condition who come to them (since this is becoming an epidemic condition).
When one has the precise varient you have it is VERY likely that you have developed the complication of LGS called multiple parasitosis (of which candida is one).
THEN, if you still have questions, write again.
As you get well, I hope you will take the time to share your experiences with the BB participants. There are many others with related immunlogical conditions of the GI tract who deserve to know that their docs are not telling them everything and that there IS a solution.

Dr. Walt, I have been reading many of your responses (like the one where you asked the woman, Did you ever wonder why you still have acne at this age). Your comments are rude and uncalled for. Not everyone has the knowledge about diets, enzyme treatments, ect. I am sure you do not spend every waking hour taking in all "good healthy food". Get a clue you look like a moron. You may have good advice at times but hey get over yourself!!!!
