LGS recovery

Posted by jen [236.325] on November 03, 2004 at 11:46:56:

From what I have read about LGS the only way to rid the body of
this condition is a no-carb diet, SR and Nystatin. Is this correct? Or
am I missing something? How long would it take to overcome LGS
on the proper program?

Jen,

A no sugar diet is imperative, and depending on how much candida in your GI tract, limit starchy carbs (like beans or grains), too. Also, avoid foods to which you are allergic or any other foods/drinks that irritate the GI tract (coffee). The elimination diet can help you determine your allergenic foods. Also, a good test is the ELISA food allergy test. And, many advocate avoiding fermented foods (anything with vinegar, soy sauce, etc), yeast, and moldy foods if you have candida.

How long it takes depends on how serious your LGS is, and how well you adhere to a wellness program.

Hope this helps,

Sapphire

What is the time range for recovery if one adheres to a program
strictly?Say it is a more severe case of LGS. Also, would taking
Nystatin speed up this recovery time?

Jen,

LGS does not necesarily mean C-RS.

The fastest solution to LGS is: PWFD (That means total elimination of REFINED carbohydrates, aerobic exercise 20 minutes three times a week and effective SR twice a day.)

IF your LGS has progressed to C-RS, adding Nystatin to the program will help.

All of this will take about a month to begin helping and 3-6 months to resolve.

Hope this helps.

Let us know how you do.

Walt

Can you have bloating with LGS without the CRS?
