SR necessary in 4yo?

Posted by Sarah [3120.1675] on December 22, 2004 at 13:06:36:

Hi there- I'm new to this board and though I've been looking around trying to piece things together, I have a few questions...

It sounds like both my son and I have LGS. He is 4, with very loose stools since an intestinal viral infection as a newborn. He now has multiple food allergies etc, etc...Sooo, my question is, why, if his LGS was not triggered by stress per say but by a virus would he need to practice SR? IF his LGS originated because of the virus four years ago, wouldn't manipulating his diet and going after any "imposters" in is GI tract allow it to heal if stress is not a factor?

Thanks everyone for such a great BB. I will ask the question I have about my self on another thread.

Tahks, Sarah.

ALL factors are contributory. ANYTHING one can do about ANY of the factors has to help.

All research says that even at age 2-3 SR helps the bodymind cope with this problem. Read Dr Gershon's book "The Second Brain".

Let us know what you learn.

Thanks-I'll keep digging! nm

Hi Walt

I am really surprised that one could teach SR to a 2 year old. They can hardly sit still longer than a minute!

P.S. Hope you had a great Chrissie! ;-)

Thanks, Miss.

Same to you!

That is why the book is called "Meditating WITH Children". There is something about the aura of a meditating parent that sucks the child into the same state.

Great!

Can't wait to teach my little one when he/she arrives!!!

Maybe we will both have a similar effect on each other.

I think they say both animals and small babies are constantly in the alpha state anyway.

I meditate with cats by the same phenomenon :)
