water rentention

Posted by Kathy on November 25, 1998 at 19:41:33:

Hello, I believe I am retaining water but not sure why. I drink adeuate water, plus soda pop and iced tea during the day. What I am noticing is that I am feeling puffy and that I am not urinating as much as I am drinking. I have arthritis symptoms and apparently LGS. I am a little concerned about this and wondered if you could comment. What's going in is not coming out. Thank you.

Dear Kathy,

Although you MAY be retaining water, this has little or nothing to do with what you drink. The mechanisms of water retention have practically nothing to do with water intake---they are mineral metabolism, immunological & hormonal influences.

This easily could be related to stuff like LGS & the immunological connection arthritis has to LGS.

Dealing with the LGS and doing elimination/provocation testing would help. You could even use your water retention changes to see early signs of what you were looking for.

Questions? Walt

If you ran the elimination diet you would probably drop 8-12 lbs. during the first week!

Over 95% of this weight loss will be water that your body retains as a result of inflammatory processes happening throughout your body. When you eliminate your food allergens via the elimination diet you will stop the inflammation at it's source and you will consequently excrete the water associated with this inflammation.

You do have food allergies and you do have leaky gut.
