what I learned

Posted by christo [3111.1399] on May 27, 2005 at 18:17:34:

Walt always ends his messages with "let us know what you learn." I was suffering from chronic diahrea due to gallbladder removal. My gallbladder was removed when the doctors couldn't find a reason for my right side pain. Post surgery set a fire in my side that caused me a lot of embarassment. I live in a rural area and have had to use the woods as a toilet. It was depressing.
I purchased Walt's book and also "Foods that Heal." I read them both and became a self styled expert on sugar and white flour. These two items seem to be the main culprits in many health problems, at least in my case. I became religious in my removal of both of these from my diet. This began on January 9th of this year.
I also sought another doctor but all he wanted to do was double my prescriptions; the same ones that already weren't working. I was taking three to four scoops of Questran every day to control my diahrea. It still didn't work.
I changed my food to all natural sprouted grain breads, crackers and cereal. To say these items helped is to understate it. I no longer take Questran. I no longer have diahrea and I have lost 45 lbs. The difference is incredible. I feel great for the first time in four years. If you have any doubts about the healing power of whole foods...well I don't. My friends don't understand it but I don't care. I stand by my results. When I add SR and aerobics I expect to realize greater gains in energy and possibly even lose some more weight. So read the books! Learn the methods and find things that work for you. My weekly food bill is nearly double. I don't care, because of the results. Remember to change bad habits (I had them all) to good, requires diligence persistance and will. It's definitely working for me! Without this site I would be a very sick man. I want to extend a special thank you to Dr. Walt Stoll for his foresight, his website and his book. And a thank you also to S.H.A.P.E. I don't know who you are but your help was invaluable.

Thanks, Christo.

Now, doing those things was work, wasn't it? The problem never has been that the advice is not valid but that most people would sooner take a pill, even though it does not work very well, rather than do the work you have been willing to do.

Congratulations! Now do not stand on your laurels and do the rest so that, as you age, you will not have recurrence.

Walt
