Question about diet, candida, and leaky gut

Posted by Nicole on June 19, 2000 at 13:15:56:

I have a question about what diet to go on. I was recently diagnosed with colitis, and I think that leaky gut and candida are problems for me. Should I follow a strict Candida diet, should I follow Elaine Gottshalls diet that helps crohns, UC, and Irritable Bowel, or what should I do? Does anyone have suggestions? I am still a bit confused about leaky gut and candida. Which one causes which and so forth. I have read the archives and Dr. Stoll's book, but for some dumb reason, I am still confused about the differences between Leaky Gut, Candida, and Parasites. I also do not know what doctor to go to and what I should ask to have tested! Help!

Nichole,

LGS causes C-RS. GSL would have a list of local physicians who would know enough to order the purged stool specimens and comprehensive stool specimen needed to lay the basis for the problen AND what to DO about it. See the glossary for any unfamiliar terms.

Even though diet (strict whole foods) is important for curing the candida, by far the most important single thing [in the long run] is the SR.

Hope this helps.

Walt
