LGS Testimonial and Thank You!

I posted in October, 2001 about digestive problems I'd been having. I also had hormonal and blood-sugar imbalanes, dry skin and scalp and of course, extremely low energy. I was frantic because I was an older parent of a small child (who I'd had an operation to become pregnant with, and wanted to enjoy, but was too exhausted to do so).

I'd had two surgeries in one year and so both intravenous and prescription antibiotics. I thought I ate better than most people (at least most that I observed) and I probably did, however, it was still based on the food pyramid and I also ingested processed foods (including canned foods), soy products, dairy and other animal products, flour, and sugar products of all kinds. Now in retrospect, I can see that I actually started craving white flour and sugar in my early 20s after many antibiotics up to that point. I had bronchitis in my 20s and was getting stomach pain from them and the MD just kept prescribing antacids -- it relieved the pain and I went forward. (No internet then to find my own answers and I lived in a very remote location with limited resources.)

After the two operations I developed constant burping / belching (lots of gas in my system) and I knew there was a problem, but now there was an internet! Yipee! I'm sorry to say that it's taken me so long to re-gain my health, but happy to say that I feel better than I did in my 20's now and I'm almost 50! Thank you Dr. Stoll! This was one of the first places that I found accurate information and I was able to start letting go of my very "programmed" ideas about health (all the mainstream thoughts I'd bought into that just aren't true).

Until 2 years ago, when I found some Chinese whole food herbs (Sunrider) that I now eat daily, I still ate organic, free-range meat, chicken and eggs and wild salmon that was tested to be mercury free. However, after 9 months of consistently eating these food herbs, my body kept telling me it no longer wanted meat and I am now a vegan (except when I'm not -- which is on a rare celebratory night or something). (I feel this is best for me as I am heading toward menopause and I read that it is best for women to not eat meat after that time and intuitively, my body agrees.) These products I eat have soy (but it's processed differently than most American soy and I had to muscle test and then trust -- and my particular body loves them!)

One of the most helpful things I learned is that we do need to listen to our own bodies for finding the right foods (I love the Ayurvedic system for this, but you might find another system you like). We are not all identical. Before completely stopping eating animal foods, I could digest occasional raw milk, cheese, or buttermilk with no problem (but it can be difficult to find a good source for these items) and I didn't eat any of them while cleansing for candida.

Another thing I learned was that some of us (who were constantly told "you are too sensitive" as a child -- don't show up on the regular medical tests. I mean, I knew I had parasites, candida, and hormonal imbalance -- but my levels all showed "normal" on the tests. However, my husband, who wasn't having symptoms, showed as having an imbalance. These tests were made for the "average range" of people in the population and some of us are more "finely tuned". Until I found a medical intuitive who confirmed what I suspected was true, I doubted and wondered if the doctors were right and I was a hypochondriac. Please listen to your intuition and your body (regardless of what others are saying to you) and never give up!

Other items I presently eat: lots of veggies, fruit, nuts (which are soaked and heat dried), seeds, lots of varities of cooked rice, pink lentils, occasional crackers made from rice and seeds or sprouted breads and cereals (I keep the carbs to a minimum), only cooked whole grain spelt, wheat, or oats (as I am a Vata in the Ayurvedic system and don't do well on many grains -- particularly flour!). I drink herbal teas, 64- 96 oz. of water and/or the beverages from Sunrider, meditate and exercise daily and I FEEL FABULOUS!!

I so appreciate this message board and wanted to share my happy ending! Dr. Stoll, you were such a BIG part of this process for me and I am forever grateful to you.

Thanks and many blessings to the rest of you on a health journey.... I know how much self-love and determination it takes to achieve your goal, but if you just keep listening to your body (SR, i.e, meditation (or tuning in)), you will get there. I promise!

Hi Nancy,

I noticed that you mentioned "Parasites" but did not
name anything specific.. Did the doctors diagnose
something with a name?

The reason that I ask is because you also mentioned Belching and Burping as symptoms... These are classic
symptoms of Helicobacter Pylori which can truly be called a parasite because they burrow into the stomach lining and live off the host.

Here is an article on the little critters so you can
see what fits

Congratulations, Nancy!

Glad to hear that you are doing so much better.

I'm so curious about the meat thing, I'm just starting perimenopause, and suddenly my body can't tolerate meat any more. I've never heard of this so your experience is interesting. What is different about the soy that you are eating, exactly?

Thanks,
Jan

Thanks, Nancy.

Hopefully your testimonial will encourage others to take this more seriously. I know it was a lot of work but it was worth it wasn't it?

Walt

Hi Jan,

Well, it kinda' just happened for me and then I read it later in a great book called, "Timeless Secrets of Health and Rejuvenation" that it's best after menopause for women to not eat meat. The soy that I am eating (Sunrider foods) are created using ancient Chinese methods and I just believe the Asian culture knows better what to do with soy than Americans do. The soy I was eating prior (without meaning to as it's in so many products), was causing much of the hormonal problems I was having. Anyway, because I adopted kinesiology and tested ALL the foods that went into my body first -- and because I learned to trust that process and that my body knew best what was right for it -- and I got such a BIG yes on these foods, I began to consistently eat them and my body started regnerating in a big way and I am so grateful for that! I also started using their two women's products and I'm sure that helped with my perimenopausal symptoms (which I no longer have). :-)
The hard part for me (but again, I got to practice that trust again) was that these foods are packaged and I had stopped eating ALL processed foods of any kind.... This particular company knows how to package the foods and keep them whole and enzymatically intact. Don't ask me how -- but they work for me! This whole health journey was really for me a lot about trusting myself, my intuition, and my body for the answers.

I'd had big shifts doing other things prior -- but this past two years, I've made huge progress and it's so fabulous... and yes, Dr. Stoll, it was worth it and I thank you so much again for your assistance in that!

All my best, Nancy

Hi Ron,

Well, as I mentioned I no longer have digestive problems... and as I mentioned some of us who are more sensitive (or finely tuned) don't show up on the medical testing. I KNEW I had parasites. I'd had food poisoning in 1992 and a big part of the lining of my intestine was in the toilet -- but the doctors didn't believe me and I didn't keep it to show them (up all night with bloody stools and probably should have gone to the hospital). I kept telling my husband, "I feel like I'm dying" and I think he just thought I was exaggerating (like I do sometimes). :-)

Anyway, that (combined with my poor diet -- which I didn't know was poor) was the start and in 1997 I developed digestive problems.

I do know all about pylori and did some things at one time thinking that was it (you know how we are all looking for "it" and there isn't any "it" -- it's really a lot of things). :-) Rather than looking at H.Pylori or any other individual thing, I started seeing things as more of a whole... like asking how can I be in wonderful health (how can I look at things, think about things, and eat)? I got the largest results by looking at the things in my life that I wasn't "digesting" and clearing them up and then being as good to myself as I possibly could (babying my digestive system) and doing Stress Reduction Exercises (I started meditating quite a bit). Once I showed the Universe how much I loved myself, they pitched in and I got a lot of help! And Dr. Stoll was the one who got me to start seeing things differently.

Thanks for your response.... but I don't think you understood that I am VERY WELL now and no longer have any of those parasites (regardless of names) because my body is thriving and no longer a trash can that attracts those types of things.

Many blessings of health,
Nancy
