Are these allergies all just in my head?

My grandmother told me that there's no way I could possibly have all these allergies. I hear it all the time, "are you sure it isn't in your head?"

I didn't ask for these problems, It wasn't until I broke out from head to toe in hives that I realized these were allergic reactions. I've been getting better avoiding certain foods, and I believe the NAET therapies are helping. I have allergy tests to prove these allergies exist.... but, could I somehow be mentally bringing them on??? how would I know??? am I REALLY this crazy?? Can I have a severe reaction just from anticipation???

I'm afraid to confide in family/friends. I'm embarrassed to order food at a restauraunt. I feel alone. If this happens to me, I suppose i'm not really THE ONLY ONE.

Many people have many allergies. When you are sensitive, then stay away from what you know will bother you.

Andrea,

There are still some people who think (as we used to 100 years ago) that all allergies were imaginary and originated in mental processes. There are still even some "doctors" who ascribe to this outdated idea.

It is true that susceptiblilty to these ailments ALL have a basis in the alteration of immunity related to storage of stress-effect in the hypothalamus and thereby lend the grain of truth to this idea. However, you can get a great perspective from the classic by Dr Gershon's: "The Second Brain" (ask your refereence librarian to get you a copy--a free service of all public librarians)where you can see that the LGS we have been discussing on this BB for years is connected to the stress effect and brain function.

That will also let you see how the 3LS can totally reverse this process within 6-12 months, for the rest of your life!

Let us know what you learn. Good luck with convincing your grandmother :o).

Walt

I can so relate to what it is like to breakout in hives, the most uncomfortable experience of my life ever. Hives was the turning point when I returned to this board seriously looking for answers. The LGS made so much sense and then the SR (skilled relaxation) for a long-term solution. The trigger foods for me were 'ultra pasteurised' milk, sweets & red chillies. Trigger emotions were anxiety, worry and stress for which SR works best.
Grateful to Dr. Walt and the archives.
