Questions on Candidia

Posted by Sheridan [10940.8213] on October 12, 2009 at 06:35:31:

Walt at al

Do you think it is likely to have Candidia in my bladder as a cause of my pain. I have been doing the 3LS faithfully for over 18 months and have improved alot. But at the end of the day while everything else is a lot better I still have a painfull burning or irritated bladder despite a very rigourous diet of limited whole foods with only three stuff ups with iincorrect food. It is diefinatley nerve pain but could it be from Candidia as I keep getting vaginal thrush each month. Do I have to take an anti fungal like Nystatin to fix it? or doing the 3LS and garlic and exercise and I do alot of meditation now..will be enough it will just take a while longer..I take a small amount of probiotics aech day. BUt still need Lyrica 75mg and Elavil 10 mg a day

Sheridan,

EXACTLY how long have you been doing the certified effective SR at least twice a day? Since this is the most important leg of the 3LS for this problem.....

Insufficient length of time for the SR to work is a LOT more likely than that candida actually is infecting your bladder. It COULD be that you have C-RS in your colon which is still inflamming your bladder and it COULD be that treating that might help more. STILL the certified SR for at least a year is the single most important factor for both the perineal muscle bracing AND the possible C-RS of the colon.

Hope this helps. Let me know about the SR above.

Walt

First off Lyrica and Elavil can make your conditions worse and counteract SR benefits - and I do not mean in minor amounts!!

Lyrica alters the GABA receptors (and is addictive)and Elavil increases norepinephrine one of the major stress hormones, it also blocks acetylcholine which is necessary for parasympathetic calming to relax muscles. It also reduces bladder emptying and causes fecal impacting in the colon - not where you want more pressure!!

It always amazes me how many doctors don't know basic biochemistry and pharmacology then prescribe drugs that patch the symptoms while causing more devastating damage.

Research pain in the pelvis: http://www.pelvicpainhelp.com/

Doing yoga abdominal exercise and hot sits baths help and finally you may need professional help to discover what is keeping your CNS activated (other than the drugs you are taking). This pain is your bodies warning that things are not in harmony and if you remove these symptoms it is common to have a new manifestation, which can be worse.

Sheridan, I'm serious about this. Do you think your husband's sperm has anything to do with this reaction?
It's a definite problem with some women.

James I am the person going to the course your friend Denise went to for the Headache in the Pelvis this December. I am well aware of the arosal of my nervous system and unfortunatly I got to a point two years ago that to manage the pain I had to go on drugs..I had fought it for so long. I just wish I had started meditating sooner as it has been the pain management without minddrugs (SSRI) and mediation and Yoga that have let me come this far. The pain clinic doudbted I would recover.

I am not recovered yet but this last flare in my symptoms was caused by introducing VSL#3 which is just too acidic for me even in tiny amounts as my blader/ pudendal nerve is still too sensitized.

But you have answered my question. I have halfed my drugs maybe not slowly enough as candidia questions are brought out of anxiety from the pain. So as Walt says "it is not what you take but what you do" Back to the strict 3LS.

I am your 'outlier Australian" with the certification problem remember. I have been getting better and better and now do alot of the Jon Kabbit-Zinn mindfullness meditation. But the answer is over 18 months. And my improvement is due to it and yoga and sticking to the diet.I get very relaxed and pain free for a period after some sessions..and floaty..although sometimes I still fight sleep.

I will go back to what I know. Meditation, diet and yoga and swimming..and see how far I can get this time..with tiny probiotics, and zinc as these are the only ones I can tolerate at the moment. I have halfed my drugs and maybe this is giving me some anxiety.

OK, Sheridan. It's depressing that you can't get over this for trying so hard and so long. Here's hoping.....in time.
