A weird thing?

Dear Dr. Stoll,
Since my "twisting colon" was "tacked down" last year due to a floppy cecum....via a laproscopic procedure, I have been much better, and even my IBS has improved dramatically!

The one change I note is weird.... I am salivating a lot.....I take no medications except for Estrace aka Estriadol...yet saliva just seems to flow much more often than before. It's NOT horribly excessive, embarrassing or a problem....but I am very aware of salivating...

What would cause this? Is it insignificant?
Thanks BAC

Hi, BAC.

MY thinking is that your surgery may have been necessary for far advanced structural changes from colonic (IBS) LGS but it did NOTHING about the cause of your LGS.

Your GI tract begins at your lips and ends at your anal verge. Excessive salivating is just another message your poor bodymind is sending you since you have "put masking tape over the warning light on you dashboard" that the colon problem was. Saliva contains the first digestive enzymes your body makes as food is ingested.

Hope this helps. I wonder what your next symptom (light) will be?

Walt

Thanks Dr. Stoll, I will revisit this whole issue.....as apparently the salivating is not caused by the HRT of Estrace that I am taking.........

I was doing so much better, that I hadn't considered revisiting the LGS issue....
Thanks
again,
BAC
