Question Regarding Candidias

Dear Walt,4/11/01

I've been on your site for hours reading through the archives. In September of 2000 I got bit by a tick and my Dr. put me on a Tetrycycline Antibiotic for a week. By the second day I got extremely ill and he told me to keep taking it until he gets the results back. On the 5th day I got a yeast infection and treated it with an over the counter one night dosage and it went away. Finally on the 6th day my Dr. told me to stop taking it and it was - for lyme. In November I started getting sever back pains and my GYN told me that I have a UTI. my 1st ever. She put me on macrobid. The only symptom I was getting was sever redness on the outside of my vagina but no yeast infection. It didn't go away so she cultured me for every possible disease and they all came back -. She sent me to a Urologist and that Dr. put me on Ampicilian.(finally went away) In the mean time I started getting this rash almost like a diaper rush around my anus which my GYN also cultured and came back - for anything. She told me to go to a Dermatologist. She cultured it and it came back + for yeast. It comes and goes about every 3 weeks and stays for about 5 days. She put me on Loprox. It seemed to have helped but it came back after 4 weeks. She told me to go to a Gastro Dr. They ordered a sygmoidoscopy and it showed possible infection and irritation but they said it could of been from the enema prep or antiobiotics. But they said this was normal. I also started getting heart burn and acid reflux, that too comes and goes. (That all started when I took a vitamin C before I went to bed). They ran a biospy and came back - for cancer and sent me on my way. Long story but please bare with me.

I finally decided to go to my internist and got a Nurse Practitioner which just happened to be a nutritionist and mentioned possible candidias problem. I'm a vegetarian and eat pasta about 3 times a week and i eat alot of the morning star farms products sometimes 2x a day. She recomended the Ecology Diet. I've been on it for 4 weeks and lost a lot of weight. I weight 98lbs and i'm 5'. I've also been tested for Diabetes, hyperthyroidism, and many other tests were done. All coming back within normal ranges. After spending about $2,000 with all these Dr.'s and no change in my health, I decided to go to this chiropracter that does testing with the Great smokies labs. I'm still awaiting my test results but I don't want him to push vitamins that will cost me an arm and a leg and it's pretty obvious that i'll spend money on anything that would help me if someone told me it will help me.

My derm Dr. gave me a script for Diflucen but i've read such bad stories that I didn't want to fill it. She also suggested that I see an allergist. So i'll probably drop another $500 or so and finding nothing. I'm at a loss. My poor husband is being very supportive and patient. Since I have this reoccuring redness/burning and yeast problem our sex life is pathetic for 28 yr olds. My poor daughter would love to have a sister or brother but that's out of the question until I get better. I know if I have to stick to this diet and it may take a long time, I just want to make sure I have the proper diagnosis and the right Dr. to help me with my problem. I live in NY about an hr from NYCity. If you know any Dr. that could help please let me know. I've spent so much $ with all these Dr.'s thinking that someone will help. Why not go to the Big Apple where supposidly the best Dr.'s in the world reside. HELP! i odered your book today but I think it would help to get a proper diagnosis.

Other symptoms I've had since a kid is waking up starving and feeling light headed. My father is the same way. If I napp and wake up I feel the same way. But if I sleep in late I don't feel as bad.(read similiar stoy in archive)

I've also started developing fissures. I had one 5 yrs ago now it happend again. I'm doing sitz baths with epsom salts and dapping Tea Tree oil and alternating with Vitamin E. Don't want to use anusol because I heard it shouldn't be used if you have canididias. (even though I don't know if I have this I'm following suggestions in the book)

Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated. I thank you in advance for your time. and please excuse my spelling. Not my strong point.

Thanks-Sarah

Hi Sarah - Most of the people on this BB (including me) have had the same run-around and costly expenses by conventional doctors - I know what your going though. I have a topic on this BB that is pretty far back now - called Muscle Testing/Allergies - that is dated March 12. If you can find it and learn how to muscle test everything for compatibility with your body chemistry before consuming it - it will help you to stop putting more toxins (allergic products) into your body. If a product muscle test "WEAK" then do not consume it. Also does your tongue have a white or greenish coating on it that you can not brush off? If it does - then you do have candida or something TOXIC going on. A healthy tongue is pink looking. If I were you, I'd go ahead and take the Diffucan for ONLY 7 DAYS to see if it helps you feel better. I have 12 other Topics on this BB that will help you if you do have Candida.

There's a really good Candida Website at:

www.healthyawareness.com.

Go to the Message board and ask about finding a Dr in NY. I've heard them talk about a good one there, but I don't remember her name.
Keep me posted on your test results from Great Smokies, because I'm thinking about doing that!

Hi Kimberly - Yes I know about NATE and on most people it works great but sometimes you must still do lots of internal detoxing before good results can be noticed with certain products.

Hi, Sarah Mitchell!

Your story is typical of the depths to which my once honored profession has sunk AND is precisely the reason I have been donationg an average of 4 hours a day to this 'site to try to DO something about it.

If you had never gone to the doc in the first place none of this would have happened. What ever became of the first thing in the Hippocratic Oath: "First do no harm"? One of the first things we are taught in medical school (at least 40 years ago and just as true today--whether it is still taught or not) is that 95% of all conditions will get well by themselves and that is the reason for the first admonition in the Hippocratic Oath.

I was stunned to learn, during research for a book on medical ethics last summer: The AMA has quietly changed the Oath. Now the first thing in the Oath is something like: "Be kind and generous to your colleagues." In other words, don't rat on your fellow doctors--NOWHERE in the "ersatz oath" is there ANY reference about "First do no harm!"

Is it any wonder that the 4th leading cause of death in this country is now medical treatment? FIRST DO NO HARM????

The very best person I know of, who can help you out of the mess you are in, is Sherry Rogers, MD in NY. She is one of the prime researchers and pioneers in this rapidly changing paradigm for the 21st century.

I am sorry but I do not have her number. If you have trouble finding her, try Doris Rapp, MD, at (716) 875-5578 since she would likely have Sherry's number.

When you get Sherry's contact information, I hope you will share it with us on the BB.

Let us know how you do.

I apologize for my profession!

Namaste`

Walt

That's her name Dr Sheri Rogers, in NY
