whey/probiotic retention enema?

Can one use whey protein powder for a whey enema?

The procedure detailed in Prescription for Nutritional Healing is to use ProFlora whey. Is that any different from regular whey protein powder?

I recently found that the quickest way to restore flora is to have a whey enema to restor pH and then a probiotic retention enema to colonize the GI tract.
Has anybody tried that?

thank you

Martin

Hi, Martin.

Actually, I think I posted the recent, double blind, crossover, placebo study about this very mechanism being VERY beneficial in those with Ulcerative Colitis (the worst stage of LGS). Remember that those of us who have a normal complement of bacteria have more than 500 varieties in our colon whereas the best probiotics one can buy have less than a dozen of the most common ones.

In the study they actually took the colonic washings of normal people and used them as a retention enema for the UC patients.

Let me know if you have trouble finding the study with the search engine.

Walt
