stomach and bowel problems

Been to the medical profession and was put on prevacid for stomach gas and told to take fiber for constipation. Prevacid helps the stomach-but bowel movements are not the best. My stomach feels inflamed and a burning feeling. Feel like I can;t push bowel movements out of me-when I do get some out it is mucus and sometimes see food-vitamins what ever else I consumes. Sometimes narrow, float. Laxatives give me bad diarrehea. I really want to get to the bottom of this problem. I do rub my illececal valve cause it sticks sometimes. SOmeone please help. I have started yoga and not seeing much of an improvement.Thank you!

Denise, There are so many directions to go and things to try. If you have been going to Doc's and have ruled out infections and all other things, you have come to the correct place for help. From the way it sound I was in your position about 15 years ago and did nothing but do what doc's said for about 10 years. 5 years ago it got so bad I could no longer fuction. If I were you I would go to archives and read up on lgs. I would immediately get started on flax oil,L-glutamine, primal defense, SR, enzymes, and possible hcl. I would try to get off prevacid a.s.a.p. I went the long road, but looking back had I went this way I think it would have worked. I am not a Doc and this is only my opinion, But this will get you on a good start and take other ideals and add them also. Wish you all the luck to solving your problem.

Hi, Denise.

Yoga will only help IF practiced at least twice a day for 6-12 months--just like any other kind of SR.

This is classical LGS and until you spend some time understanding what you have it will likely progress.

I know you would not be practicing Yoga unless you had already been learning but since I am sure you are not doing your Yoga twice a day, you have not yet learned nearly enough.

Hope this helps.

Walt

Hi, Denise - Have you tried taking Metamucil for your constipation? It couldn't hurt and very well may help some.

I had to take Prevacid after antibiotics caused GERD...It helped for about a week, but then I had pretty bad burning in my stomach and intestines. That was two years ago, and it still continues today. Antacids just made it worse, so I got off of them. It turns out that my gut is hypoacidic, so I'm taking HCl tablets---the mucosa is scorched, though, so I can't tolerate the acid very well. I feel hungry and burn all the time. Not pleasant. Sooooo....I would definitely encourage you to try some HCl + enzyme supplements--start very slowly in case you're scorched like I am. If anyone reads this and has any additional advice for me on how to heal, I'd really appreciate it. Maybe this could help both of us. Best of luck to you.

Hi, Prevacid Queen.

What did you learn from the GERD archives? What are you doing about your LGS?

Walt
