I am confused about alkaline versus acidity? Is a alkaline
diet better for LGS? But then I heard that yeast hate acid?

Hi, Jean.

I think that Robert can answer about the alkaline/acid better than I. I will see if I have anything to add when he responds.

Jean,

pH is an indicator for many things. Your confusion is that you are lumping them all together.

Naturopaths have been using the concept of alkalinity/acidity for many years suggesting that the ash content of certain foods will have an alkalinizing or acidifying effect on the stomach.

Yeast are in the colon where the pH is MUCH different than in the stomach -- and yes, they do not like an acid environment.

You will find that pH measurements have been used with saliva, blood, venous plasma, sweat, etc. You are best to disregard all of them unless you are willing to understand each of them intimately. You are not the first to be confused by the bandying about of acid/alkaline terminology.

Thanks, Bob!

I knew that but knew that you would be better able to say it. This note says I was right to get you involved.

Namaste` Walt
