LGS

Posted by CAROL on March 01, 1999 at 19:49:59:

After antibiotics I had a sore throat with losts of mucos
amd feeling very nauseas then was having what the docs
call reflux, starts with a burning sensation from chest to
throat to ears no I have all kinds of gastro problems,
belching stomach pains, side aches strange stomach noises
and over lbs weight loss went to many docs. GDSL test
showed high level of proteus no parasites orfew yeasts.
Int perm test showed LGS. Digestive enzymes were perscribed
but I get that burning sensation from my chest to throat to ears. Do you think I really need digestive enz. Help!

Dear Carol,

Since this was triggered by antibiotics, I would be pouring in the probiotics (at least 6 billion of acidophilus and bifidus each dose 4 times a day).

Then, realize that antibiotics do not cause LGS but they DO cause dysbiosis. The chances are that you had already developed an incipient case of LGS and that is why the antibiotics could push you over the edge of your cliff into severe dysbiosis.

Thanks! Walt, but what do you think about the diestice enzymes. If I belch a lot does that mean I need them and
can you comment about the burning sensation stomach to
chest to throat to ears. Do I have to change diet as well?
I don't eat sugar and trying the whole foods.

I to am following the whole foods and I get reflux and belch a lot and have gas pains from time to time. It could be all the ester C I take but I do not remeber it before whole foods. I take 30 billion of those enzymes twice a day. I hope its all the bad things dying and getting pissed!

Dear Carol,

It might. Your best bet would be to try them & see what your bodymind laboratory tells you.

For yout esophageal/pharangeal symptoms, I would try the GRJ mentioned on the homepage of this 'site for "upper GI symptoms". I would get REAL serious about the appropriate practice of SR to keep it from coming back.

Walt, how long must one try dig enzymes before they know
if they are working? Could I be experiencing some kind
of die off like Matt?

Matt, just wondering if you experience a funny bitter
taste in your mouth too all of the time? My taste buds
are not what they used to be.

Dear Carol,

A few days at most.

Anyone can experience "die-off". However, in MY experience it is vastly overrated.
